AABANA Beach & Watersport Resort

The facility is located on the beach, there is a very good diving center on site with excellent guides, the staff is nice and helpful, and the breakfast is good.

Unfortunately, I have to write about the poor accommodation conditions. The Bangalow had a leaky roof in two places, and water was pouring onto the terrace. The worst situation was in the bathroom. The two existing floor drains lack traps to block the stench from the sewage pipes. I had to plug the drains with rags to make it habitable.

Great balcony and lots of room. On the water. Lovely staff.

A little bit removed from the action - it was quiet but could have benefited from staying a bit closer in.

Wood bug infestation. Over bed. Residue in bed, made me cough all night. Did not discover reason till last night.no tv, bad Internet for two days.

My main purpose in Malapascua was going scuba diving. This resort happens to have a dive shop, which was very fitting for me. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, far from the noise of the center, right in front of the beach, peaceful at night. The room might not have the finest touches, but it was clean and I had a good time there. If you go for beaches, the best ones are all the way up north, north east or north west in the island (AABANA is kind of south east), which means you'll have to walk all the way there, and as far as I remember, very few hotels are there. However, I did go to those beaches and it was great. About 30 min. walk, but so worthy.

Mosquitoes. The resort is in a place where it is inevitable to have them. They did install a mosquito net for my bed, and the dive shop sells an eco-friendly repellent, but none of that mattered. I was constantly eaten alive by them. I didn't pay much attention to the mosquito net, but after the first night, I noticed that the mosquitoes were still eating me, and only then I realized that the mosquito net had 2-3 big holes. The eco-friendly repellent sold in the dive shop was not effective either, so you better bring your own (the only pharmacy in the whole island ran out of it). Later on I noticed that, in other parts of Philippines, they do have also a lot of mosquitoes as well, but the hotels were offering that kind of repellent that you plug into a power socket, and I never had a problem with mosquitoes there. Maybe this is something AABANA should consider, since the amount of mosquitoes in the area is quite big. However, I did have a good time, and if I ever go back there, I will come back.

Nous avons passé un bon moment ! L’emplacement face a la mer est vraiment paisible. Les chambres sont fonctionnelles, bien équipées.
