To start, I paid for a sea view room. I didn’t get one. I was told if I go out on the patio (small) and lean over the rail, and you can see the ocean! * Even worse was the very old, lumpy, painful mattress. So bad I had to move hotels. Luckily I found a much better place only about 100yards away. * also fyi, the whole room was painted blood red & there was no tv & no pool

GBThis hotel is not accessible at high tide** Which is every evening and when it rains! The staff at the hotel are very very nice. And the breakfast is great, perfect spot and cooked fresh.
There must be an issue with the management as we were let down on our first day. The hotel did not let us go and check in as we landed late and there was high tide. Nowhere on booking confirmation or booking.com description does it note the problem with high tide/ accessibility. So to our surprise, we landed in El nido at 23:00 (flight was severly delayed) and the hotel told us it is not possible to go check in. Earlier that day, we kept informing the hotel about our delay as they were planning on picking us up from the airport. They never mentioned that we wouldn’t be able to check in after 23:00, it was until we landed that we found out. If we were informed about this, we would have planned ahead. They did not help us arrange alternative accommodation. Somehow, other people on our plane were able to check in to their hotel that was next door. So the problem is the management and not the high tide. You can always find a solution. Or at least, help your guest find a place to stay.. they had a duty of care toward us and left us to fend for ourselves in the middle of the night on an unknown island, during a time when forecasts said there was a tropical storm. To say this is outright negligence on behalf of the management here is an understatement, they knew we were at risk , and did nothing to help us, stopped answering our messages and suddenly we were all alone. We had to get booking.com involved on this and we managed to get refund for the first night. However, we paid a lot of money to find an alternative accommodation last minute, at midnight, knocking every hotel in town to check for availability. It was the worst experience and very stressful. The only reason we give more than 1 rating is the friendly staff that made us feel comfortable the following days. The hotel does note that the latest check in is at 23:00 but not mentioning why.
NZLoved this place. Would definitely book it when back in El Nido. The staff were super helpful and nice. Beautiful views. Great deal for the price.
