Pangulasian Island Resorts El Nido

A stunning location, very comfortable villa, super friendly and helpful staff and fantastic complimentary boat trips. Also great snorkelling in front of the resort. Definitely the best resort we stayed at in the Philippines.

The food was excellent quality (including breakfast) but there was such a limited and uninspiring choice for dinner - of 13 main course choices, four of them were steak and there were no Filipino dishes. Why roast chicken when it could have been chicken adobe? Food and drink was also eye-wateringly expensive. On night four we were at a loss what to eat so just chose starters. Another strange issue was no door on the toilet! And finally be aware that the guided ‘Nature Walk’ is actually a strenuous hike uphill for 1,400 steps to a viewpoint. We enjoyed it but it needs to be renamed on the paperwork so people know what to expect.

The location is fantastic, the rooms lovely, but what sets it apart is the quality of the staff. Everyone is fantastic.

I think the dinner menu could have more local options.

I’ve been traveling since mid November so this paradise was healing to my body and soul. Great hospitality, quiet, well organized welcome committee and professional friendly approach to any activity around. One feels at home.

One has to be careful belongings like cell phones, accessories, food items inside the room and keep doors locked closed all times because of monkeys. My cellphone was taken away while I am reading my book on beach lounge…I retrieve it back but I heard it may be gone forever! Smart animals. Despite to this incident I extended my stay 3 more days because no other place can top this place!

Pangulasian island is an hidden gem. The island and the sea are amazing and also the structure is very well done and refined. The location of the island is very convient for island hopping too. Very good and rich breakfast.

The restaurant (dinner) is not value for money and the choices are quite limited. We didn’t like the signature massage neither and not worth the price. The gym is very well equipped, but a bit small considering the size of the resort.

Wow! From the moment you step off your arrival flight, to when you are dropped back off at the airport for your departure, you are made to feel special. If you have a special request, just ask and they can make it happen. Yes, the beach is not the dreamy white powdery sand. If you can overlook that, PIR can’t be beat with everything it offers. The resort is in a great location for exploring the many beautiful islands of El Nido. The villas are spacious and beautiful. The food superb (and we are foodies who can be quite critical when it comes to food). The snorkeling in front is great. The resort offers complimentary boat tours, but I recommend doing a private boat tour to set your own schedule and places to visit. Your guide will be with you every step of the adventure. I love that the resort believes in being eco friendly but yet manages to deliver top notch luxury. I saw not one single plastic used in the resort. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the best thing about the resort… the fantastic staff that helped made our stay absolutely spectacular. Book now and don't give it a second thought!!

The beach is rocky, unfortunately, not powdery sand. It is certainly not in the control of the resort and was not a deal breaker for us as the other positives far outweighed this aspect of the resort.
