Apartment in Royal Atlantic Beach Resort - Montauk

We got to the room and it was disgusting it hadn’t been cleaned even though the owner had called us 2 times and texted we were coming! We booked the room why wouldn’t we use it and it be cleaned?

We were scared to stay because we were afraid of who else had the code to the room. It had fresh coffee still hot on the pot at 9pm when we arrived and it wasn’t cleaned. She tried to blame the housekeeper but the owner repeatedly contacted us about coming so they knew the room had to be cleaned it was awful we couldn’t get into the room until after 10 pm after a full day of travel. This isn’t run well the owner was out of the country and hard to reach when we arrived and the room was a mess. The hotel couldn’t do anything because it’s privately owned. She didn’t even take any money off the stay she offered to give

Location, close to beach and town. Amenities, pool was nice to have and access to Royal Atlantic Hotels pool.

When I originally booked this trip, I thought I was booking through the hotel and not a private owner of the apartment. When we arrived I went to the front desk to check in and they said they had no reservation for us. After a few minutes they realized I booked a private owner apartment through a third party site and said I needed to deal with the owner. Because I thought I booked through the hotel I was not looking for correspondence with the owner, which I didn't received until 8 o'clock in the morning the day we left. I am not checking emails on the day I leave for vacation. After a few minutes I checked my emails and did receive an email from the owner with her contact information and all was good after that. the owner was very helpful and accommodating. The room is definitely dated, which most are in Montauk. The pull out bed on the couch and main bed were not very comfortable for a $400/night room. Other than the beds everything was great, location you can't beat, close to town and beach.

Clean and centrally located

Great location. Spacious apartment for two; nice balcony. Melissa was very helpful and easily accessible with any question I had and made great suggestions for trails and restaurants! Plenty of extra pillows, blankets, towels, dishes, cable TV only which Melissa mentioned (but there are two smart TV and we were able to mirror Netflix from our cell phone). Two AC units that function as heating units as well in the winter.

Nothing to say that we didn’t like. Just be sure to bring toiletries such as soap and shampoo since it is a private apartment.
