Zulu Land cottages - near Curlies beach shack and shiva valley - Anjuna beach

Value for money. They included break fast as part of their service. Location is excellent, walkable to Curies and other beach shacks.

The cottages are rather very old and minimally maintained. The assistant tried to move the cot to place extra mattress and the cot broke in the bottom.

I am a woman travelling and I booked the stay through booking.com within minutes of checking in, I stepped into the shower and the shower head detached and fell directly onto my head, causing me physical injury. As a woman in an unfamiliar property, this was not just painful — it was deeply frightening. Upon inspecting the room further, I found mold covering the walls, broken fixtures throughout and an overall condition that was completely uninhabitable, the air conditioning unit was also not functioning properly — the blades were shaking and rattling, making it unusable and nothing like what was represented in the listing. When I raised these concerns with the property owner, rather than offering me an alternative room or any form of assistance, he was entirely dismissive — stating that such things could happen anywhere — and proceeded to misbehave and speak to me in a disrespectful and intimidating manner. At no point did he offer to move me to a different room. Instead, he simply proceeded to replace the shower head in the same room, fully expecting me to continue staying there. This itself is proof that he was aware of the problem and chose to offer a quick fix over guest safety. As a woman, being spoken to that way by a male property owner felt unsafe and intimidating. I had no choice but to check out within 5 minutes of speaking to the owner. I had already paid the full amount upfront via UPI and immediately requested a cancellation and refund which has not been honored.
