Stay Wild Retreats 'Glamping Pods and Tents'

I booked two pods, so this is a copy of my review from the other booking… Lovely location and very peaceful. Received a very warm welcome and the facilities provided were plenty for what we needed. Lovely views and the pods were spaced out nicely. Very clean and comfortable.

Nothing really, a very small observation, it would be nice to have an opening window in the pods but it wasn’t a big issue.

We didn’t realise how local this place is to Wrexham, where we are from! It felt as if we had travelled much further away, but still close enough to a pub and bus links. Loved the fire pit and BBQ. We really liked the swing and trampoline even though we are in our late 20s! The twinkly lights and lanterns, alongside the woodland location felt really magical at night. We were a bit nervous about the bathroom facilities being shared. But ended up really enjoying how refreshing the shower felt. It felt outdoors, but also private enough away from other guests. The beds were very comfy and we slept really well, the nearby roads were quiet at night and it felt like there was enough sound proofing in our pod to not hear anything from outside. We are both picky sleepers so this is a big compliment. We liked it so much we stayed for an extra night. There was a storm this night and it was a unique and fun experience. We still felt safe and cosy while watching the storm. Didn’t get wet from the rain at all and were provided with super cosy blankets and towels. Honestly one of the best and most memorable nights away we have ever had. Thanks to whoever designed to pods to still feel safe in a storm. (We actually officially became a couple here and we can’t think of a better place for that to have happened) Would definitely recommend it to anyone local, wanting a peaceful get away without the hassle of traveling far. Will 100% be back soon!

It could have been slightly more clear where to get more kindling. We were prepared to buy our own from a shop. It was just too hot to want to walk there and we don’t drive so the hosts aren’t to blame. They did promptly help us with this. Cooking oil, salt and maybe some cleaning wipes would’ve been a great bonus in the kitchen. Some other guests asked us if we had found any. But we know to bring our own for next time. (We wouldn’t expect these to be provided with normal camping, so it’s a very minor thing). Somewhere with a more private place to make a fire would’ve been amazing, as we don’t always want to socialise on holiday. But again, very minor and we liked what was there. The other guests were friendly and respectful.

We had the best time here! My children had lots of fun exploring, playing hide and seek, playing on the trampoline, toasting marshmallows on the fire pit and even found 3 tree swings which were fab. This place is truly a retreat with everything you need available. We stayed in the tents which were spacious, clean and the beds were so comfortable. The owner was so lovely too. We will definitely be back xx
