Coconut Lagoon Kumarakom - A CGH Earth Experience

Great location, right on the lake. Very well maintained resort. Very friendly staff. The rooms were tastefully done with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. And the staff was just a phone call away for any needs. The property itself was also very well maintained. Lots of activities to do for all ages. Overall a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The food was the highlight of our stay. Both the buffet and a la carte had great options, even for vegetarians like us. This was despite the fact that the ongoing gas crisis due to the war had made the menu options somewhat limited. The check-in, check-out process was also very smooth. Everyone at the resort was very friendly and polite and went out of their way to take care of us.

The driver who drove us from the airport drove very rashly with frequent braking. On a 2 hour road trip, this was very tiring and uncomfortable, not to mention unsafe too. The other minor thing we did not like was that after settling the bill on the day of check-out, we were sitting in the boat to return, one of the staff came running to ask if we had consumed a can of soda extra than what we had paid for. It was a little embarrassing for us to quibble about Rs.200 in the earshot of other guests. First of all, this was clearly an accounting mistake on their side. Secondly, the staff should have been discreet about it, instead of the way she handled it rather publicly. We felt that the staff should be trained better to deal with such issues.

Hospitality, staff are welcoming and made us feel home. Location is good and the resort is well arranged

Villa s facing the river is very hot and no fan in patio, it's impossible to seat and enjoy the view. Toilet door is very hard to open, especially for elders.

My stay at Coconut Lagoon felt less like a getaway but more like slipping into a quieter, kinder rhythm of life. I had come with my mother to celebrate her 80th birthday. From the moment we arrived, there was a sense that this place understood what it stood for, living and breathing its philosophy of clean, green and respectful of its surroundings. The location is extraordinary, held within the tranquil embrace of Vembanad lake, where the water and sky seem to meet without urgency. Mornings unfolded unhurriedly and evenings, especially the sunset boat ride, carried a quiet magic that lingered long after. There is a curated range of activities for those who enjoy outdoors, along with wellness experiences. What stayed with me most were though the people. There was a rare warmth which was unforced, intuitive and non-intrusive.Staff seemed to know you for your presence and not as a room number. At Ettukettu restaurant, this kindness took a special meaning as they made my mother's birthday feel truly memorable. The food here deserves a special note. Rooted in authentic Kerala Cusine, dishes felt both familiar and exceptional. I must mention Sous chef Santhvana and Amal, whose grace elevated all interactions. I would not say that the resort is luxurious in a conventional sense but perhaps that is its strength. What it offers is a sense of being looked after with thoughtfullness and intention, for both you and the nature around you. But the sincerity of service surpassed many luxury hotels that I have experienced worldwide. I left knowing that I would return to rediscover it again and other CGH properties.

Prices at the on-site shop felt somewhat on the higher side.

Beautiful location. Excellent Staff. Housekeeping and the Kitchen staff were excellent.

magnifique hôtel calme immersif dans lac kumarakom et backwaters très belle piscine très agréable pour se détendre à maintenir en l’état ! superbes oiseaux autour chambre agréable lit baldaquin, bien qu’un peu sombre salle de bains extérieure superbe personnel du restaurant très bien restaurant bon copieux ,sans être exceptionnel en goût au desk manque d’explications pour excursions bravo pour la croisière nocturne

Everything about the hotel Is wonderful from the staff, to the facilities and of course the food. We also enjoyed the sunset cruise, the evening dance show and being by the pool.

The breakfast was lovely, abundant choice of Indian breakfast. Usually buffet style food looks good but never tasty, but their breakfast with delicious. The staff were always friendly, helpful at the same time gave you space so you didn't feel bombarded. Loved how the art of music and dance were incorporated into the daily life there. It was on a higher end of price tag but for a short day, it's worth your peace and tranquility.

The resort is stunning—we were truly impressed by the location, like a little oasis. You can only reach the hotel by boat and are welcomed with heartfelt hospitality. Throughout the property, it's clear that great attention was paid to details, with a strong emphasis on sharing the local culture, such as through evening dance performances. A wide variety of on-site activities were available; you could easily spend a full week there without ever leaving the hotel. The food was excellent.

Unfortunately, the service was far from satisfactory for us. Numerous issues arose even within a single day.To get the pre-arranged third bed in our room, we had to contact staff four times before someone finally showed up. The towel count in the room was also incorrect, which isn't a huge deal on its own. However, the replacement towel was simply left on the dirty veranda instead of brought inside. When we requested extra water, it took two calls to get it, and what arrived was already unsealed, requiring a third visit to fix. When we tried to report these inconsistencies during our stay, we were met with deaf ears. In my opinion, the resort can't rest on its beautiful grounds alone. The service feels uncoordinated and chaotic.
