Belvedere Resort

The overall vibe, looks and facilities are actually better than the pictures here convey. Having day tours arranged at reception and billed directly to the room was a really nice convenience.

The restaurant food was average – lacking a personal or special touch. Moreover, the curtain in the room is very thin, so unless you're wearing an eye mask, the morning light will wake you up pretty early in the morning.

Location on the beach was probably the best on that stretch. We changed rooms from the villa to room in the upper floor because the bathroom in the villa was open air. The room on the second floor had an amazing view of the beach. All the staff across all the services was excellent. Juma is a really hands-on manager and attended to most matters himself. We extended our stay for an additional 3-nights.

Ein wunderschönes kleines Ressort für alle die Ruhe und kein Abend Entertainment, Action oder so etwas suchen. Herrliche Strandlage mit eigenen Liegen und einen tollen infinity Pool. Wir waren zum Entspannen nach einer Safari dort. Wir hatten einen Bungalow (kein RC!) und ein Doppelzimmer (mit RC). Beides großartig. Der Bungalow mit Freiluftdusche hat mir besonders gut gefallen. Die Kids liebten das Doppelzimmer. Das Essen war sehr gut. Bei mehr als vier Tagen hätten wir das Frühstück vielleicht etwas eintönig empfunden, aber so war es genau richtig. Zum Abendessen waren wir auch zweimal dort und ansonsten auswärts. Das ist kein Problem, da es genug Möglichkeiten nebenan gibt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben unsere Wäsche waschen lassen und das war preislich völlig ok.

Das Hinterland ist geprägt von Armut. Die Menschen dort sind ebenfalls sehr freundlich, aber wir fühlten uns unwohl sobald wir das Ressort verlassen haben. Es sind im Grunde zwei Parallelwelten die hier nebeneinander leben. Das Ressort kann natürlich nichts dafür und trägt ganz sicher dazu bei, dass einige Menschen vor Ort Jobs haben. Aber dennoch hat uns dieser Gegensatz erschreckt. Negativ ist uns noch aufgefallen dass es neuerdings eine Zwangskrankenversicherung bei Einreise gibt (44 USD pP) und es ist egal ob man bestens krankenversichert ist oder nicht. Auch dafür kann dieses entzückende kleine Ressort gar nichts!!
