Xanadu Makadi Bay - High Class All Inclusive

This Hotel is like a super all inclusive, it is basically massive, there is a main hotel building long corridors of very nice rooms, beautifully clean, vast, expansive grounds and swimming pools - easy to get a bit lost on the first days! there is a golf cart style shuttle to get you around (needed as its a bit of an incline down to the beach) there is a giant Gym - largest we have ever seen in a resort. The entertainment venue was also a massive amphitheatre, with smaller entertainment happening around pools and bars. then there is the food - so so much food. mainly turkish / German / Russian in style but also lots of egyptian options, favourites like pizza and pasta and an unbelievable choice. Waiting staff are just brilliant, always remember you, super attentive. The same with pool waiters and generally anybody you met. We stayed in a swim up double hotel room with connecting door to the exact same room but twin and a sofa bed. it was nice to be right next to the main restaurants, pool and lobby. We had THE MOST AMAZING room attendant, Ibrahim. I believe he made our stay perfect.

We actually didnt get the rooms we paid for (dune swim up), nobody really gave us much of an explanation as to WHY they wanted us to move. When we arrived they said our room wasnt ready (fine as we were 30mins early for check in and they very kindly settled us in having lunch so we were happy) but then half an hour after check in time, they said they could move us into the hotel instead of the Dune swim up - the hotel room still had swim up and they said thats all that is different. We were offered to check both and decide what we wanted.. so we did, but it just all felt very strange, why werent they giving us the room booked if we could then check and choose. It turns out the Dune family room was a bit further away, between beach and main hotel, was larger with a lot more family space and a larger (shared with one other) pool. the one they showed us had a view of the kids club which we would not be using. I think they were moving us because our kids are older, it made sense, but they didn't really communicate it well. The also made me sign a waiver to say I wouldn't seek compensation - it just didn't come across well. We decided to book the salon for my two daughters (13) and I to have facials. it was sold as 60mins all together. When we arrived they tried to put one of my daughters in a room with a stranger having a facial. I knew they'd be really uncomfortable with this so I said I will be in with the stranger and keep the girls together. They seemed really annoyed at this. Then I realised they were using one beauty therapist to provide the facial to two clients at a time - I don't know if this is the norm but it feels very unhygienic, also was not therefore giving the time I had paid for. I lay down with these thoughts and then completely unprompted and with no discussion the therapist started threadding my eyebrows! I didnt want this for my daughters so sadly we decided enough was enough and we left disappointed.

Le Spa Saya (massage et beauty), la qualité n'est pas à la hauteur du prix mais il faut préciser que c'est un service indépendant de l'hôtel

Great beach and swimming location. Excellent food, comfy rooms with swimming pool. Very friendly staff, we asked and got a free late check out.

It would be great if swimming pool rooms would have couple of sun beads too.
