Koh Mueangkarn Paradise View Resort

These are nice enough rooms on rafts, with good views and decently set-up. Meals were good, the setting is pretty, but the facilities are a bit improvised and erratic. I'd seen them listed as 4 star on Google, I'd say they were more a middle of the road 3 star. I'm not sure how they compare to others on the river, but if this is what you want, there's nothing wrong with this place, and it's an unusual experience.

When we first arrived the staffs were helpful and friendly. The guy who took us from the main road where 15km far from the resort we were appreciated. Can see from my photos as we expected from the website, the room is clean, balcony with river view, good food with a la carte and buffet for morning and dinner but for breakfast should have extend from 1 hour to 2-2.30 hours in case someone doesnt want to join the raft trip in early mornings. Food choice is more than our expect.

Turned up after travelling hours by bus and taxi , to be told they can’t find our reservation , no one could speak a word of English , once I could prove we had reserved we were just given our key and had to find our own way to the room , The setting was beautiful but was let down by everything around it , staff hid away when they saw you coming , Smoking in the kitchen whilst preparing food , the room had noodles in the room but no kettle , tv didn’t work , the food was terrible and I left the next day only to travel to Phuket with sickness and diareah after my visit, I would not recommend this place , Marc Glastonbury , England

The room was too closed to the water pump machine and it made a lot of noise till late night. When I saw the pictures of accommodation on the website, I'd give it a try but when I first arrived, it wasn't that impressive. It's really just average. The room is okay and not that clean. The food is simple. However, The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd expect more for the price I paid.

We stayed 2 nights and loved it!!! We stayed on a raft and it was great! very friendly and helpful staff... even if they can not speak a lot of English. After breakfast , included in your accomodation is a trip on a raft down the river...also a wonderful experience!

Fabulous value for money!!! This place is off the beaten track on the river Kwai. Literally on the river! Hotel has rooms on land but the majority of the rooms are floating on the River. Your breakfast and dinner is included since there are not many other places or restaurants nearby. How to get there from Bangkok : we took the train from Thongsi Station in Bangkok. Only 2 trains a day, first around 07h50 and second around 12h00. Buy a ticket to Nam Tok Station. Only Third class and you cannot book online, no need to stress, be at station 40 minutes before departure, buy your ticket and walk across the street to the fruit and vegetable Market and buy some great fruit for the trip. Trip duration about 4 hours and quite scenic on the latter part of the trip. Nam Tok will be a little overwhelming since averybody will want to sell you a trip or hotel destination. Decline them all in a friendly manner and walk across the parking area to anyone of the two restaurants and have a drink. When the rush is over the owner will approach you and offer help. They speak good English and will offer transport to your resort. Our first offer was Thb 800 for the two of us and we suggested we will rather go by bus. The owner found three other people who wanted to travel to a nearby resort and offered that we share the pickup van at Thb 400 for the two of us us. Easy and save way to travel. Even the Thb 800 is good value. Enjoy the trip!!!

Only stayed a couple of nights here but we loved it. It’s right off the beaten track and sits right on the river. You can stay in both raft rooms on the water or bungalows higher up. We stayed on the raft with the river flowing past outside the patio doors it was amazing. So peaceful (other than jungle sounds) so relaxing. Staff were wonderful, didn’t speak a lot of English but that was part of the fun trying to communicate, they were great fun and really put themselves out. Went on a raft ride after breakfast where they actually tow part of the hotel up the river and you can jump off and float down the river in a life jacket, brilliant fun. Not a great deal to do other than swim and relax but that suited us. Food was lovely but if your not a fan of Thai food you might struggle as there’s only 3 choices at dinner and there’s nowhere else to eat for miles. We loved this place, would highly recommend

This hotel is somewhat remote and best visited with your own transport. That said, its secluded location sets the backdrop to a breathtaking location right on the river. Facilities are very good, considering they are mostly located on water. The dining room/bar has wonderful views of the scenery and the complementary dinner included in the price was quite good. We loved that part of the dining room detached to make for a leisurely hourlong cruise down the river. What a lovely surprise that was. The only downside was the somewhat cramped space of the raft rooms, and the limited storage provided. Anything bigger than a small overnight bag may well get in the way. Consider a more spacious room if you are not travelling light. I have stayed in countless hotels in Thailand over the years, and this is one of the most memorable stays to date, thanks to the setting and the thoughtful add-ons provided.

Good view. Bad traffic, the road are not improvement. Our room are not private and so loudly from other rooms. There are no hairdryer in room, just request special needs. But totally the room rate included breakfast and dinner, it’s reasonable price.
