Jelly Sea Resort

Our last-minute stay at Jelly Sea turned out to be the best decision we made all trip. The resort is nestled at the end of the salagdoong forest and opens onto probably the most beautiful beach on siquijor. The evenings are particularly peaceful as only resort guests are allowed on the grounds past 5pm. Crystal clear water, amazing views, and great snorkelling all around the resort and onto the neighbouring marine sanctuary right nearby. You can use the snorkels and kayaks free as part of your stay. The setting was spectacular, but what really made our stay special was all the staff at Jelly Sea. They go above and beyond to make your stay welcoming and will make you feel like part of the family once you get to know them. Thank you, Daisy, Win, Cristine, JeJe, and all the others that made our stay.

It is beside Salagdoong beach.

No wifi, no TV.

Location is directly on Salagdoong Beach, which is a public beach where people go to for Cliff Jumping. The beach is only accessible from the public from 8am to 5pm, so outside these hours you have the whole beach area by yourself (or guests from this resort) as it is the only resort in this beach. Snorkeling gears and Kayak are provided from the resort. They have their own restaurant with food servings good for sharing. There is also a public cafe/restaurant nearby (open from 9am to 4pm) that serves good food and coffee (espresso/capuccino). The Staff from the resort are nice and helpful. Sunset here is also really lovely!

It is around 40 minutes away from San Juan where the backpacker area is. But you can always rent a scooter, car or a tuktuk with driver to roam around the area.

The place is very far. Only nice on the pictures posted but very disappointing to stay. The staff was attentive thou. But the room is quite expensive considering the location and environment.

The hotel is like a family/friend run small property (I think only 7 rooms total) which gives a nice friendly and flexible vibe. The location is beautiful - a private area just next to a secluded beach where locals and tourists come for day trips. There is a nice buzz as groups come for the day and then early morning and from 5pm the area is pretty much left to you/the hotel - very peaceful. Staff helped us organise motorbikes for the day at reasonable cost and were kind after I had a little accident.

The snorkels/masks provided could be in better condition - there was only 1 out if about 6 options that enabled a decent snorkel session. The room itself was fine but could do with a deep clean - especially the windows and bathroom. As advertised, and as reviews stress, the property is very very remote. Lovely if that’s what you’re looking for, but do be aware it’s a good 45 mins to any ‘tourist’ cafe/restaurant - but again, this is very clear and is also the special thing about the property! Thank you.

Everything about this resort made me smile and feel so welcoming. the customer service made u feel like ur at home with family. Lovely ppl to connect with and form a friendship ❤️
