Great caravan in a great location

Location and caravan near the sea

location , calm , quite area , caravan is well organised by owner . Nice for homely feel , family friendly , comfy sofa and arm chair , clean caravan and love the decoration inside it , feels like home . i love that coventional oven suitable for easy cooking , dishwasher with capsules , handwash provided , bath mat, hair dryer .

The caravan was lovely inside, clean, and close to sea and amusements .

Unfortunately, the gas ran out overnight. We had booked one night .We were informed that we were the first to stay at the caravan since the start of the season. We contacted the host, but had no response initially. We were unable to cook , wash with warm water , and the caravan was freezing . I then contacted booking.com who advised that they were on phone to host. The host then sent a text saying he would contact reception to deliver gas when they opened (which was a Sunday) and we could use the electric heater but only on setting 1, as the heater would overheat on higher setting. He also advised we could have a late check-out (until 12) This would be reasonable if the caravan wasn’t freezing. The electric heater made no difference to the temperature. We left the property before 10 so we could get some hot food and warm up . I requested through booking.com if we could have a partial refund via the host due to our inconvenience and cost of having to eat out. We requested a £30 refund from the host to cover this cost. The cost to stay was £76.95. I consider this fair . However, we were informed by booking.com that the host declined and this had been escalated by booking.com. Later, the host did text to say we did not need to check out until 13.30 but we had already left the accommodation. I appreciate the offer of a later check out . However, being the first guest of the season, it would be expected that they would check the gas levels before letting out the accommodation. I think a partial refund is fair considering the above points . It is a shame that I have had to write this review as the caravan was lovely. Update - Booking.com would only offer a £8.67 refund as the host still refused to refund.
