Phangan Akuna

Good location. Quiet and in nature. The gym and pool are nice and almost always empty. Ground staff are friendly.

The apartment itself doesn't feel cosy or homey as there are big posters everywhere saying what you can't do. I was originally supposed to stay for a month but left 11 days early. I'd booked for 1 person and stayed for 3 weeks alone, but my partner flew out to Thailand to join me for the remainder of my stay in Phangan and elsewhere. I told the receptionist when I checked in about this and she told me to text Rainnie, which I did. She didn't get back to me about it until two days before my partner was due to arrive, only to inform me that it would cost 9,500 baht for her to come and that we'd get no additional amenities (like towels). I informed her that this was 20% of my entire 32 day stay for an additional person with no amenities and only for 11 nights. I suggested 20% of the 11 nights is more reasonable. She left me on read for the whole day then responded around 36 hours before my partner was due to arrive saying it would be 11,000 baht (made no mention of why it had suddenly jumped up) and that's the policy and she can refuse my additional guest if she wants. She then told me that all hotels follow this rule and that you can expect 1,000-2,000 baht for an additional guest per night. She also said I won't find anywhere on the entire island cheaper. That was a complete lie, I found multiple places, showed them to her and also showed her that if I booked for 1 person and 2 people at Phangan Akuna it's actually the same cost. She told me the rules have changed since my booking but I'm bound by the rules at the time I booked and therefore it's 11,000 baht, end of story. I asked for a refund for the last 11 days and thankfully she provided it straight away otherwise this would've been a 1 star review. She also told me 2 hours before I was about to check out that I couldn't keep the bike that I'd signed a contract to rent for a month. Overall, poor and petty management spoils what could be a really nice place.

The pool

מיטות נוחות, נקי, מיקום מצוין, צוות מקסים ונכון לעזור תמיד.

החדרים גדולים מאד, לא מאד מרכזי אבל כן קרוב למרכז ויחד עם זאת במיקום שקט.

הזרם במים במקלחת ובכיור חלש מאד; ה-WIFI לא חזק במיוחד.

Personale molto gentile, camere ampie e pulite. Immerso nella natura e nel verde con disponibilità di noleggio scooter.

Incrementerei l’illuminazione notturna nei vialetti per accedere alle casette

Ruhige Lage, nettes Personal und großzügiger Bungalow. Problemloser Rollerverlei an der Unterkunft und transfer zum Pier. Alles organisiert durch Riannie.

Ich weiß nicht, welche Erfahrungen die Betreiber gemacht haben, aber die Wohnung ist teilweise tapeziert mit A4-Blätter mit Hinweisen, wie viel bezahlt werden muss, wenn ein Handtuch beschädigt oder die Toilette verstopft ist. Teilweise überorganisiert und bemutternd. ;)
