Only a smoke alarm in main bedroom at bottom none anywhere else.(danger) had to wash plates cutlery cups saucepan. Microwave dirty inside. Two bed wee stains sofa bed mattress disgusting filthy.

Excellent welcome pack. Well equipped, clean lodge in an excellent location. There was an issue with the cot but this was sorted very quickly and efficiently.

The only issue we had over the whole weekend was the price of the activities pass and the limited access to the activities. However, this is nothing to do with the owners of the lodge.

The space. I haven’t seen my brother for 23 years so we had him and his partner over, sat at dining table or on the deck was brilliant for time together with the family. Huge living space to entertain. Location - could see the lake, the aircraft and was a quieter part of site at night, with the exception being the weekend with new arrivals for parties for birthdays and hen nights, although wasn’t too bad that it became a nuisance. Aircraft noise most of the day due to being right next to RAF base - but you don’t book here if that’s not your thing! Personally My boys and hubby loved it! The price - just over £800 for the week was reasonable. Finishing touches - unexpected extras like coffee maker, George Forman grill, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, biccies and a nice bottle of Prosecco and so much more was lovely touch. The decor was lovely, modern and clean - the huge soft toys we were greeted with all over the furniture was a bit OTT which was commented on by our (admittedly well over age for teddy bears) sons, guests and from photos we posted as a bit odd and out of place for a higher end stay. They got moved over to the window for the stay as my son felt a bit anxious with them everywhere as he felt they were watching him. I can see how younger kids would appreciate them though but they are like marmite to some - you love them or you hate them. The hosts couldn’t have foreseen that my son would have issues with this although I know several parents with children with the same sensory problems with soft toys, never mind giant ones, so thought I would mention it in case not aware. My son was fine with them under a blanket in a corner for the duration of our stay. The ornaments and maybe some framed prints would have conveyed the theme of bear lodge better for us though.

Not much we didn’t like - the hosts have really thought of mostly everything to make the stay lovely and comfortable. A couple of suggestions though - replacement bin bags, we had to buy as nothing to put rubbish in after first empty of small kitchen bin to main skip. We had 4 empties on stay of week - so maybe larger bin? The knife block probably needs replacing as handles are cracked and broken and very blunt despite sharpener. The toilet roll holders need replacing - drove us all mad - rolls constantly fell off the holder and rolled away when trying to dispense. Mildly irritating having to hop off the toilet to retrieve them every time, but didn’t spoil the overall stay. The park itself charges for using facilities that you still had to pay for. As we don’t have young kids we were going to be using restaurant only but discovered we had to pay nearly £100 for passes just to be able to book a table there. I have stayed in many parks but have never had to pay an entry fee to set foot in their restaurant! Their loss really as 7 of us (our family and brothers family) went out every night for dinner and spent our money elsewhere. The on site chippy I believe was ok without a pass but decided not to even try in case we were pulled aside and asked for it. Lunch and breakfast for us 4, several times outwith the site. We went elsewhere for other entertainment facilities including pool (Woodhall spa). Highly recommend the fortesque pub and leagate inn and cafe in coningsby for eats as well as local Chinese. Site rules so this of course is outwith the control of the hosts. Confusing rules - wall poster says guests out by 10. Folder says guests out by 11. We went with 10pm as didn’t want to fall foul of the security guards on the gate.

we loved the size, how comfortable it was, well equipped the hot tub and the roof terrace. The aircraft we saw while staying was awesome.

The cost of the guest passes were not worth it.

small things could elevate this property to excellent. new and updated bedding and cushions in lounge needed at not a great cost to the owners.
