Doxford Farm Camping

I found the bell tent dirty and the gravel directly outside the tent was walked in which meant it was unpleasant under foot and dirty. The sides of the tent were dirty inside and it was unpleasant to be in due to being dirty .

Accommodation was great and in a lovely setting

The mood lighting in the bedroom is nice but it doesn’t really light the room up. Struggled to find things in our bag when it was dark. It would be good if the light was on a dimmer that could be adjusted.

Unique experience. Beautiful area. Loved the fairy walk.

Need a comfortable chair for outside, I didn’t bring one.

Great location for lots of lovely nearby places. Site is well looked after. Showers and bathrooms were spotless. I thought the provision of wifi was very thoughtful.

I booked and then found out later that the pods didn't have beds as advertised. The owner got in touch and explained they had decided to reduce the price and not include beds. She said that Booking.com hadn't updated its site accordingly. I wasn't especially happy and to her credit she offered to refund but I decided to press on. [Booking.com still says 1 futon bed] On the day of check-in, Booking.com sent me a notification that I could let the owner know when I'd be arriving. I did. It wasn't acknowledged. I turned up in torrential rain, parked and dashed around the site trying to work out where I was supposed to be. No one was there to meet me. Eventually, I looked back to messages some months earlier to find which tent I was stopping in, then worked out where to park etc. The tent was fine. I don't suppose it's easy to take down and clean but it was a bit mildewy around the top vents. I didn't bring cooking equipment and intended to just grab food on the go - but I brought teabags and was looking forward to sitting out with a cup of tea and a book and watching the sunset. Most campsites I have stayed at have very basic food prep area - sink, kettle, fridge. But - there was nothing to boil water with. Two days came and went and I didn't meet any campsite staff. To be fair, I left early in the morning and was out much of the day but if they had missed me they could have emailed me and asked me if everthing was alright. General signs and directions told you all the things that were expected of you, and what you had to do, and what you couldn't do. Alongside the lack of any welcome, it didn't make you feel especially at home.

It was a comfortable tent in the middle of nature. Was peaceful and everyone there were friendly.
