Kaner Retreat - India's First Desert Botanical Resort

A carefully considered retreat, beautifully created, this perfect respite is situated between the busy tourist spots of Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. Owners Sapna and Samir have invested heavily of themselves and deserve to be congratulated. You can pay for a desert dinner and dunes jeep excursion. Samir does an excellent complimentary botanical bush walk and evening star gazing talk.

Great service, great food, great surroundings - truly an extraordinary place. Music by the locals during the afternoon was one of many highlights.

Everything! The best hotel/resort in India! The hosts Sapna and Samir are super hosts who will make your stay superb. The facilities are beautifully designed, high class. The food is amazing and on top they provide many experiences that make your stay unique. A real treat!

We loved everything. The setting was beautiful, quiet and serene. The room was thoughtfully and beautifully decorated and comfortable. The food was amazing. The hospitality and warmth of our host, Sapna. We loved the nature walk, the dessert drive, and the meal under the stars.

Our lovely,inspirational hostess, Sapana has created a " one of a kind" experience in the desert between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Following her dream she has combined her love of botany and the desert environment with exquisite food. She is a font of knowledge and an absolute delight to be with. The retreat has beautiful rooms decorated with care and built with love. The ambiance is pure magic, especially at night, with solar lights and the sky full of stars. The local musician playing his two flutes, in true folk fashion, needs a special mention as do the local staff who were fantastic. As for the food, if I was the one choosing who should get a " chef's hat " Kaner's restaurant desrves one. Sapana offers a whole range of experiences for her guests. For us we just wanted to rest, walk in the desert, listen to the birds, see glimpses of wild deer and blue buck and watch the stunning sunset. Go, you nature lovers, foodies and adventurists and treat yourself to this unique experience. I promise you that you will not be dissapointed. Thank you Sapna and all the staff.

There was nothing to dislike. It was pure magic!!

Brilliant experience never felt more at home at this beautiful property curated so lovingly by the owners Mr.Sameer and Mrs.Sapna their special personal care and attention made my birthday so very special they went over and beyond to enhance our stay. They obliged with our request on cake which was made complimentary and also offered us special room. The food is cherry on the top as they have made such great efforts to make the food out of locally sourced organic ingredients and vegetables again personal care and superb Chef. It was a pleasant surprise for my parents and son will definitely recommend this as a place for quiet peaceful getaway with family and your love for nature. Surely Sapna will enlighten you with her botanical knowledge and local ancedoctes. Their daughter needs a special mention as she is a beautiful drummer. And my son loved hanging out with their pet 🐶 bestie. Kudos to the entire team!
