Malapascua Legend Water Sports and Resort

The location was great. We were diving at Devocean and this is just a few steps further. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is served between 7-10am, but when we were diving in the early morning they weren't difficult at all to serve breakfast when we returned at 11am.

Even though the room was large and clean, the state of the property, unfortunately, is in a state of disrepair. The fixtures were old and in need of updating, and the tiles were cracked and discolored. I can't even describe what happened to the bathroom door... Somehow it was disintegrating from the inside out. The shower had a large rain head, but unfortunately, this was only attached to cold water. The only way to get hot water was through a normal shower-head which you had to hold as the holder broke off a few years ago. It was clear that the bathroom had not been properly maintained, and this detracted significantly from the overall experience our my stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and modern accommodation. However, if you value the location, space and friendly staff, I can heartily recommend the place.

When we came to the hotel we were ones guests there and the hotel is quite big (capacity of more than 100). So there was no life in the hotel, not many choices of food for breakfast and the staff was a little bit lazy but helpful if you asked them for what you needed, and friendly that is for sure. The pool was a little bit untidy (leaves and flies were in it - regular issue after each day but I think that it should be cleaned every morning), of course, the pool was OK for use, I swam in it. No guests in the restaurant during the days and evenings and almost no one in the bar (just we were the ones who took drinks during happy hours to sipe them during sunsets - the beachfront of the hotel is a perfect spot for that and a frozen margarita is a good drink to celebrate the sunset moment after a hot day - recommended). The situation changed a little bit after a group of about 15 guests came at the end of our stay. The hotel has huge potential in my opinion and it just needs some attention and engagement to be a very good hotel - one of the few hotels on the island which has a swimming pool, the swimming pool is really big if taking into account that the hotel is on a small island, there is kind of jacuzzi (it did not work during our stay), there is a separate bar, big restaurant. I have mixed feelings about the hotel.

Hotel a bit dated and few minor problems which wouldn’t cost much to fix. Eg shower bracket broken so had to hold shower to use and light not working because bulbs needed replacing

staff are very helpful and pleasant. breakfast had several choices, all good and served quickly

only downside is the hotel is in need of some basic maintenance, as in the shower holder was broken on riser rail so shower hose had to held for use, this was not a major problem but a very simple fix. the tv didnt work and we were told they werent sure why, just having problems, again not a big problem but being advertised as having tv so they think it is a selling point. I know hotels are suffering after the pandemic but things like light bulbs should be checked and replaced. The rooms are tired looking but this did not affect the use
