Poponé Farm & Lodge

The farm environment was super enjoyable, and the room was very nice too. The staff was very attentive and the breakfast was great.

Wifi in the room would have been nice.

We stayed at Popone Farm & Lodge on our way from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast. It was a nice stop. The lodges are located in the countryside (10 Minuted from the highway). The rooms are nicely decorated and had everything for the comfortable stay. The common area in front of the camps is just perfect to enjoy warm evenings in the nature. The rooms are new and in very good condition. Good breakfast. Super nice and friendly owners.

No wifi in the room. Almost no wifi in the common area. A car is required as there is nothing around.

Property was well kept and very original! Loved that it is remote and gave a true Costa Rican experience.

Road was a little difficult due to recent rain.

Fantastic hosts and very welcoming. The best way to start a holiday in CR. Why stay at a hotel that’s so clinical when you can be amongst nature and lovely local people. Everything you need is here and the breakfast was 10/10. Thank you George and family !

Everything was perfect.

Amazing place. Fantastic bungalows/cabins with comfortable beds, hot showers and fluffy towels. Delicious breakfast - homemade goats milk yogurt and strawberry jam with pancakes and fresh fruit. There is an open air kitchen with a fridge and microwave to prepare your own lunch/dinner. Dogs, goats and a friendly horse are your neighbours. There is a lovely woodland circular trail to a creek on your doorstep. Lovely friendly owners. Great place to stop on the way from San Jose to Tortuguero. Several restaurants in nearby Guápiles 15 min drive.

Very friendly couple. The breakfast was excellent. The best lodge we had on our Costa Rica stay. We strongly recommend!

Everything :) the bungalow has everything you need, it’s clean, comfortable, has a mosquito net over the bed which was very handy as the accommodation is basically in the middle of the jungle, the host was amazing, homemade jam and pancakes for breakfast, recommendations, fantastic place, highly recommend!!

Probably the best place we stayed at during our trips, we absolutely loved our stay at Poponé Farm & Lodge. We arrived late from the airport and asked them if they could prepare dinner for us (for a fee). They prepared a simple but delicious typical Costa Rican dinner. The breakfast was so so so good - tortillas, yoghurt, jams (all homemade) as well as eggs from their chicken and delicious fruit. This is a family-owned lodge (incredibly kind!) and the cabañas are beautiful - simple, clean and super comfy. I highly recommend Poponé Farm & Lodge!!

It was wonderful stay in the center of nature, the farm in the tropical forest. I fully recommend it. Very nice family, super food: breakfast and dinner. Great place to be closer when you travel to Tortuguero.
