Kuda Laut Boutique Dive Resort

We had a fantastic stay at Kuda Laut Boutique Dive Resort. The room was beautiful, comfortable and very well maintained. The service was outstanding — the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and always willing to help with a smile. The location is stunning, with direct access to some of the best snorkeling and diving we experienced in Bunaken. Even if you are not diving, the snorkeling right off the beach is amazing. This is a small boutique resort, and that’s exactly what makes it special. If you’re expecting the facilities and endless amenities of a large international chain like Four Seasons, you may be looking for something different and not on this island. The charm here is the personal service, authentic experience and the opportunity to support a locally owned business and community. If you are looking for a relaxed, beautiful and genuine dive resort with excellent hospitality and world-class underwater experiences, I highly recommend Kuda Laut. We would happily stay again. 🌴🐠🤿

The desert island is beautiful, and the house reef and boat trip Snorkelling trips were amazing. The staff were fabulous, the rooms are stunning and comfortable and the 24 hour air conditioning in our room was bliss.

The food tended to be overly European based. We expected Indonesian dishes but usually were offered more European foods like pork chops, mash, veges. Would have preferred to choose more Indonesian dishes like me goreng.

Many things to like. Lovely, kind and professional staff including boat staff, snorkeling guides, restaurant, bar, office, garden workers. The location is breezy, beautiful scenery. My villa was roomy, bright, wide eaves and sensibly constructed for the climate. The snorkeling ( I did 6 afternoon trips) were astonishingly beautiful and inexpensive. In particular, the Indonesian food prepared for lunch and dinner was terrific. Great soups The whole place has a relaxed,friendly vibe and everything went like clockwork. Everything worked well except for the expensive mask my wife bought in Australia ( and the excellent Toby fixed the problem 😄)

Really nothing that concerned me at all.

The day to day staff were incredible - such lovely people in the resort and for the diving/snorkelling/excursions. They also went the extra mile by putting out a private table with handpicked flowers for our honeymoon one evening. The location is unparalleled for snorkelling and diving - can see coral reef and diverse marine life just in front of the resort (including turtles, lion fish and anemone fish). The diving instruction was also brilliant, as were the diving and snorkeling trips which run multiple times a day (this was a real highlight of our trip). If diving or snorkeling is.your focus you can't go wrong here.

The booking.com listing says a la carte and buffet food. Only on arrival, we were told the food was set menu, only choosing between X2 dishes per course. Further, the food was very inconsistent - meat overcooked often, dishes drowned in mayonnaise, undercooked pasta and fed rancid chocolate on X4 separate occasions, despite flagging to the staff that the dessert didn't taste right after the 2nd time. They also have a 'gym' which consists of a bike and cross trainer that don't work, air-conditioning that doesn't work and a rusty treadmill that fell apart when used. The multi gym was also rusty and the only exercise mat disappeared after our first day. We'd recommend this isn't advertised to better manage expectations. Finally, the bathroom was outdoors which initially seems cool, but in practicality means you're too hot after using the toilet or get attacked by bugs and have to keep the bathroom door shut constantly. We also found a live cockroach on top of the dresser on the 4th day...

Diving was fun and plentry of beautiful dive site around. The room was very comfortable, staff were very friendly and helpful. Incredibly beautiful island.

Some fresh fish on the menu would have been a welcome addition

Die Lage ist gut zum schnorcheln und tauchen, der Strand ist sehr schön, sauber gepflegt, die Anlage sehr sauber, das Personalteam ist sehr gut, freundlich. Die Tauchbasis ist sehr gut. Das Bungalow ist gut, sehr sauber und groß für Familien mit Kindern oder Freunde.

Sehr teurer Transfer von Festland. Pro Person 29€.

Very relaxing. Helpful staff. Super snorkeling and very reasonably priced. Good meals.
