GBGBThis place is fabulous in all aspects. The property is peacefully situated among coconut trees and looks out to the sea via a clean empty beach. The lodges are spacious with all amenities required for a comfortable stay. The staff are super friendly and the food in the restaurant is freshly made and delicious. Well worth making a detour if in the area
GBClean pool, small, remote, and feels like a tropical paradise. We'll placed. Cheap restaurant food. Not included in the price but affordable compare to the 2 neighbouring hotels nileshwar hermitage and malabar, of which malabar has outdated facilities and a mucky pool and sub par service and food. Kanan had great food I was never left hungry and it didn't break the bank.
Too many bugs and a little eery at night time. Part and parcel of a quiet gem of a place. Would recommend and bugs are everyone in all places so bring the spray. Although nileshwar provides this and kanan provides cream. Malabar as the sub par 1/3 supplies nothing but a plug in that comes as standard in all and barely helps.

The dressing room looked shabby. The safe deposit locker was archaic.
INUnfortunately, we reached the hotel well past sunset. But the incredible view that greeted us the next morning was unbelievable. The location is perfect, a few hundred meters from the beach, and sleeping while hearing the rhythmic lullaby of the waves on a super moon night was magical. The property is easily accessible but the surroundings are very calm and idyllic. There are around 10 villas in the property but we were the only ones the staying the night we were there. But we were pleasantly surprised with the efficient service provided by the dedicated kitchen and service staff. The manager who checked us in was also professional. We had booked a two-bedroom villa and the rooms were well maintained and the bathrooms were functional.
The property could do with a bit more love and care especially with the room furniture and bathroom fittings.
INThe location is amazing you literally cannot get a better place to stay if you love the beach. It's amazing for a relaxing vacation and the staff is very helpful.
Only issue would be communication with the staff if you don't understand Malayalam since they cannot understand English too well. But they manage quite okay.

Tender coconut was over priced.Was not expecting in a place which is full of coconut trees!At least a welcome drink we expected a tender coconut.Authentic Kerala breakfast if served would be great..can improve on the spread..
