Cozy, little converted horse box, done to a high standard. Beautiful setting and warm and comfortable, could maybe have done with some more wood and charcoal being left but otherwise perfect.

"Very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely stay"

9.0

It's a bit of a hidden gem this one. Great contact from the host, I loved the Whatsapp videos explaining the location and how everything worked, so helpful. I must admit I was slightly nervous leaving my car at the roadside and walking to the site but actually it was fine. Slightly tricky to find the gate to the site from the track in the dark and the track can be muddy so a decent pair of shoes required in inclement weather. Slightly too close to the A1 for my liking but I'm used to a very quiet rural area in Scotland so notice traffic noise. That said, it didn't spoil my stay at all. The accommodation itself is gorgeous, very very comfy bed, good shower. Well equipped and so long as you're happy being off-grid you'll have a lovely stay.

I'd have preferred to park the car closer to the accommodation or atleast in a yard off the public road. The walk along the public track was slightly tricky in the dark.

"When you just want to relax and get away from it all"

10.0

This was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet location, where it was just us and nature all around us - from watching the swallows dart about, the heron searching for food and the noises of the horses occasionally neighing, this was bliss. The accommodation is done to a very high standard and we just loved everything about it. We used the hottubs and they are just that, large barrels that fill with hot water that you can luxuriate in, there isn't any bubbles and you can arrange to use them on the day with the owner, as there's nothing like the British weather to put paid to outdoor plans. And although you feel like you are a million miles away from everyone, the town centre is only a short drive away should you need supplies. If you are looking at a romantic break away from it all, or you are a family of 3 looking for a base to explore the area, you can't go wrong with booking a stay here.

These aren't things I didn't like, just things for others to be aware of: - You can't drive right up to the Horesebox, you park up and walk about 300 metres along a country path to the site. So you will have to carry your bags. It is a coolbox, not a fridge, so be aware of this when you are thinking about what food you bring There is no oven or microwave, you have 2 hobs and the outdoor area for BBQ, so take this into account when thinking about your supplies Oh, and the coffee supplied is for the cafetiere, it's not instant 🙈
