Cabañas Colibrí Tayutic

Great value for money. Jose the owner was very accommodating with very warm hospitality. He walked me around the property and showed me a gazilion birds to photograph during my short stay. His gardens alone have more than 5 species of hummingbirds, and the cabin overlooked the valley below, as well as a great viewing space to take photos of birds on the trees which include the small colorful ones to the montezumas, hawks, and owls. It is also 5 mins to Rancho Naturalista. Food was great and breakfast was yum! Highly recommended.

This property is perfect for bird lovers, the host is extremely enthusiastic and showed us around the property and the various birds. The view from the cabnas are also nice, but definitely rustic and in nature. Ideal for people looking for sleeping in nature and really into birds.

I had a wonderful stay here! The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, always making sure we felt at home. The food was not only delicious but also very affordable — such a great surprise! One of my favorite parts was the beautiful forest surroundings, where is thewe could see hummingbirds flying around all the time. It was such a peaceful and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

The cabana had a great views from the front deck looking out at the garden and surrounding hills with lots of birds. Place was simple but had everything we needed. We did a day trip to Rancho Naturalista and it was very conveniently located to it only a 7 minute drive away.

Lots of birds especially hummingbird. Our host were extremely accommodating and serve excellent typical food that was delicious. Jose was Very helpful

A great birding spot! Jose was a very helpful host. He picked us up in Torrialba and drove us to the Cabanas. He showed us some of the local birding spots. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Meals were simple but good. Very good value for money.

An excellent place to stay in the area, especially if you are there for the birding. Much more affordable than similar birding lodges in the area, and very close to Tayutic Mountain Reserve (which I strongly recommend visiting as well). You can stay here and visit Tayutic Mountain Reserve during the day for a price point that comes in at about a quarter what you'd spend to stay at the most well-known birding lodge in the area. The included breakfast was very good.

The friendly owner showed pride in the condition of his few cabins and was very helpful in showing us some birding areas. We also went on a trip looking for a specific bird as well. I had nice view from the private deck of the furthest cabin. The wifi was a bit spotty in a rain storm but I suspect most people have full time data on their phones. It was a good comfortable accommodation for a very reasonable price with tv and hot water and low cost meals were available if needed. Lots of birds on the property as well. I would defiantly recommend this property.

I liked many things about this property. The host was friendly, kind and attentive. The food offered (optional)was exceptional, traditional fare and I looked forward to every generous meal. The views and surroundings were both stunning and quaint. Plenty of birds and butterflies to behold.
