Cranganor History Café & Riverside Château

The hotel was located on the shores of Periyar River, and the numerous tilting palms made the views spectacular. The hotel only had 7 rooms but all were well equipped, of good size and very comfortable. Bathroom was very good. Food was superb. All Staff were very good. Hotel offered boat trips, massages and fishing to name a few. The Kidney shaped swimming pool added to the views giving beautiful reflections.

We had nothing to complain about, it was all good.

The people here are very welcoming and the property has a huge space and amazing view around it. Best place if you are planning a vacation with family. 5 star service and a very very special mention to their food and hospitality. Premium stay which is definitely worth the money.

It is simply beautiful. We had the best possible experience there, and it is in a fantastic area. When you step outside and go for a walk, you are still surrounded by lovely people and lush, green landscape. Our room was blissful, the staff were so kind, and the view of the river is imprinted on my mind forever.

One of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed in. Just seven beautiful double rooms creating an intimate feel. Rooms were well spaced out meaning you were not always aware of the other guest. Staff friendly and attentive and could not do enough for you. Lots of activities available or you can just while away the time chilling in a hammock. Amazing infinity pool that I made good use of every morning we were there. Great ethos of employing people local to the hotel. A really really special place on the river bank that I would love to visit again.

Just a word of warning. Food is delicious but the portions are massive. Owner missed a trick not stocking a supply of the gorgeous light quilts that were in each room in the shop. We would have each purchased one to take home.

We really would recommend this place. It is beautiful, a peaceful little oasis, which was very welcomed after travelling from Delhi and Agra. The staff really were amazing, very warm and so helpful paying attention to the little details. Not to mention the food, I had some of my best curries here!
