Ft. Wilderness RV Park and Campground

location to event scheduled was the best thing about Ft Wilderness RV Park

the cabin we booked had already been rented just prior to our arrival. I had confirmed prior. We were put into a cabin behind a wash room. parking space was occupied by a trailer...we had to park away from cabin. bathroom was tiny could not sit or stand with door closed. only two pillows which were worn for 4 people...thank goodness we had brought our own. code to get into cabin was wrong...had to go back to office to get correct information 2x. There were workers in the campground cutting trees and chipping limbs...very loud...for a Saturday vacation getaway.

It was quaint

Our cabin inside was fine , tiny but good. However the outside , the screens were torn and hanging off, the window had a big hole ( the size of a fist or baseball) which meant all the AC went out there and the red ants were all over the porch and the screen door was hanging on .The property looks as though they are working on it, adding more RV/camp sites.

There was power and a working toilet/shower. There was a Tv that had no remote. We managed to get the tv to turn on but was unable to change channels.

When we first arrived, the lady acted completely confused and clueless of how to even find our reservation. It took her like 10 minutes of looking around piles of papers scattered around to find one with my name. You had to bring your own sheets. For the price, bedding could at least be included. On the other hand, if it was, it would have probably been disgusting. But you can RENT some for 25$. We bought some new from DG for 20. There were so many cobwebs, dust was piled on the ceiling fan, mouse turds in the cabinets and drawers.

The pool was really nice.

The shades didn’t draw closed and there were people every 10 feet another camper, majority of which seemed to have residential spaces. The doors didn’t lock properly. Then I realized all the units have the same lock code and it doesn’t change from one guest to the next. It was totally unsafe.

The location was close to many restaurants and shopping choices.

The bathroom in the cabin was tiny but we were happy to have one since it rained while we were there.

The pool was clean and well kept. Our cabin had full kitchen and bath.

The location was great. We were in cottages 3 and 6. They were just as described, clean, and it was quiet and peaceful. Pool was clean and enjoyable. It is a step up from tent camping, which we do often. We would definitely stay again and plan to come back. Yes, there is a rooster that's pretty vocal, but come on, it's the country!

We had a broken step on the porch, and they felt a little dangerous due to it raining during our stay. Some tread would be great since it's not a covered porch.
