"Disappointed"

1.0

The view was incredible. Shaun out host was friendly helpful but unfortunately owners need to sort driveway out

No mention of high rise vehicle was needed luckily we decided to go in my car. With much rain over last month no attempt has been made to make the very steep clay driveway stable. It was so bad we left after 2 nights as it became very scary and slippery. Gas leaking from gas stove in middle of the night was just plain dangerous. Definitely would not recommend in rainy season without a 4x4. We had to find alternative accomodation to complete our vacation. Very disappointed and financially insane as we would not have booked had we been made aware of driveway.

"Cabin with a view"

8.0

Beautiful setting looking onto the Umzinkulu river. Friendly and helpful hosts. Great spot for a quick get away.

Things that would help improve the stay: Curtains for the bathroom windows for privacy. Rugs for wooden floors instead of the current carpet.

"We were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The units are lovely and the view is exceptional."

7.0

The situation and view was exceptional.

The units are very close together and we feel a screen wall needs to be erected between each unit so you keep your privacy. Curtains need to be fitted in the bathroom or the windows need to be frosted. Carpets need to be removed from the bathroom .We suggest a vinal floor.

"Wonderful stay in a nice cozy cabin with the most beautiful views. Peaceful, quiet and tranquil."

6.0

The location and view was absolutely amazing. Quiet and in nature although only 5 mins away from town. The room size is great. We thought we booked a glamping caravan and when we arrived it was actually a cabin with the most beautiful river and mountain views. The kitchen utensils are great for what one needs as self catering. The beds are very comfy. Even though it was cool and rainy we slept nice and warm. The cabins are great.

The bathroom didn't have a curtain which made it difficult to feel private as it is right at the entrance. Anyone walking past or coming to your place looks right into the bathroom. The crockery was dirty. We used 2 plates and they were the only ones that were clean the rest were in the cupboard (used and dirty). The carpet was very dirty. One can see it hasn't been vacuumed/swept for a while (grass, used matches, cigarette ash in the bathroom and everything one brings in with your shoes). Another roll of toilet paper will be a bonus so that you don't run out in the middle of the night and then be told sorry, but it's self catering, you need to bring your own, but yet there is handwash, dishwashing liquid, spices etc for your use in the kitchen, which you don't usually get in a self catering. It would also be great if it states on the ad that you can not use hairdryers etc as the cabins run on solar. It makes it easier for planning especially if you go for a function and need to get your hair done or if it is freezing cold and you don't want to walk around with wet long hair.

"Bad"

1.0

The nature

The place was dirty. The owner was hovering. No privacy No electricity Interference from the owner The special instructions on the bookings ignored The owner distanced himself from the I structures with excuses The place had spider webs and cocroaches. The morning g of the last day, power was cut off and the gas was finished. we could not make breakfast. The place looked more like a storage place with dirty linen

"A let down"

4.0

The location and one of the hosts, was exceptional given the issues he had to deal with

We had no electricity at all the entire stay, no lights, no plugs to charge phones. The ad said TV, we booked two chalets, only one had a tv and we couldnt use it because there was no power. One chalet had no hot water at all, the other had luke warm if the hot tap was on full in the shower but hot water in the basin? Everyone had to come shower in our cabin which was the one with luke warm shower. The shower drain is positioned in the middle but the floor is uneven so the water floods the carpet. This leaves a damp smell There was dust on every surface on arrival so i had to clean it with the one dishcloth we were provided. The outside chairs were filthy, I had to clean those. Grateful to the host Mark for coming out at night late to fix problems, give us battery operated lights and recharge them for us or we would have been in total darkness. We had to charge our phones in car

The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and to feel welcome. We loved the unique style of the caravan/cabin with the fireplaces and gas geyser. Everything was just wonderful!
