CityKamp Valkenburg - Maastricht

Loved the location, close to Valkenburg and the setting is gorgeous.

The lodge was a bit grubby

The heated pool was great but very crowded. The cabins were nice but were situated very close together. The fresh bread was a nice option for breakfast.

The lack of a shuttle from the campsite into town was a shame. Our mode of transport was bicycle. The campsite being at the top of a big hill made it very tedious to come back after going into town. The lack of items at the shop at the site was disappointing. The cabins would be so perfect if there was somewhere comfortable to sit. The couch was basically a hard bench. The chairs were all outdoor furniture, also quite hard. We also lost electricity during our stay which was surprising that there was no backup generator. Window screens would be helpful so you can keep windows open at night. The hamburger truck was terrible! Overpriced, burnt burgers! 25€?! I returned the inedible burger only for them to make another undercooked AND burnt again! Disgusting! Clearly was a frozen patty cooked by inexperienced people. Disappointing!
