Krouma Camp & Ecolodge

This place is lovely, if you're looking for somewhere low cost, and low-frills, with great Nubian food. For us, it wasnt quite right. Our room only had fans (no AC) (to be fair, the website did not say our room type had AC, so that was our fault for overlooking). The Nubian food was excellent; our kids were more interested in things like pizza and milkshakes, which are on the menu but not always available. The mattresses were really comfortable, but the beds were made up with several layers of thick blankets (despite the heat) and no top-sheets were available (we asked, and were given fitted sheets). The shower head was broken, so water came out the end wrong end - but there was abundant hot water, so we made due. The boat service to and from was always available on demand, which was great and helpful, and the hotel was very helpful in getting us a driver to meet us and take us wherever we wanted to go. That said, it needed to be arranged, as the boat landing spot is fairly out of the way, so not easy to get a cab there (and we had one driver who was reluctant to drop us there as well). So, I think it's a nice out of the way spot, if you're looking for budget accommodation, but just wanted to highlight some of the idiosyncrasies.

Amazing friendly staff .. Specially the host ( Litza ) ( the dog ) she is welcoming everyone .. The atmosphere is outstanding and unique . if you are looking for a quiet relax spot ..it is def for you

The location is simply amazing: a little corner of paradise on the Nile, very peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and so the air cond worked perfectly and kept the room at a perfect temperature. The garden is very beautiful and refreshing. The food is very decent. The staff helped me organizing a boat ride at sunset that was the highlight of my holiday in Aswan. They also helped every time a tour guide had to pick me up and had to find the road. Very chilled and relaxed atmosphere.

The peaceful location, the staff, the food and everything else!

Food was amazing, really big portions and delicious. The staff and owner were super helpful, hospitable and overall nice. Room was big and clean, bathroom utilities a bit run down, but functionable. We really enjoyed the big area to relax and felt comfortable to take a swim in the nile.

There is nothing else to do on the island, so depending on your preferences that might be a bit boring, for me it was perfect. (No souk, no restaurants, no hasslers)
