Birchington vale caravan holiday park

Upon first look the caravan seemed okay, it was nice to have parking but our site didn’t have enough for two cars only one. The property offered lots of facilities but they were quite lacking.

The smaller beds were very tiny, not fit for even our 4 year old children. We ended up camping in the living room floor, there was no sofa bed, we just put the cushions on the floor, the double bed was okay but couldn’t leave the kids alone as they were upset. We were told we had a noise complaint at around 2pm in the afternoon while we were there and accused of kicking a ball against a neighbour’s caravan which was untrue, our children were playing with a balloon on the grass area. I can’t recommend you go there with children that like to play outside during the day. There was a lot of ants in the property, they were not concentrated but they were all over the place, and in our bags and shoes after being there a few hours, also in the drawers and cupboards. I was accused of lying when I bought this up to the host. We were not given clear instructions about the ‘facilities and activities’ on site which led to us having to pay an extortionate amount in additional fees just to use the pool, bar and arcades. We complained about this and requested a refund but were then verbally and aggressively treated by the park staff and host. I have commented that it was not made clear what was and wasn’t supposed to be included and that no instructions were left for us about that, which caused a big scene in front of our children. The park staff at the bar were nice, but the management and reception staff were awful, unhelpful and derogatory… it seems sticking up for yourself here gets you a bad rep. I will never, ever return to this place and have made formal complaints to both Booking and Park Holidays UK.

Nothing we didn’t like ,but a suggestion maybe invest in an Aircon unit as without this it gets to hot in the summer for us as well as the dog so we wouldn’t stay here in the hotter months but would love to if one was available 😊

I called to ask for directions and the owner was clear and helpful. The caravan was clean and tidy.

Location is mazing we meet up with abi she is absolutely lovely lady definitely going back there 😀 😊 😄

Lovely place, great facilities and very comfortable. Kids loved the caravan!
