Chena Huts Eco Resort

Amila is an incredible host. Super friendly, nice and helpful with everything. He took me and a couple on a tour to Polonnaruwa, and we had a chance to talk about the Sri Lanka day to day life, the country's history and current reality. Amazing talks. On the way from Polonnaruwa we had an superb lunch on a very local restaurant (one would never find it online), where he had a really tasty rice and curry. One of the best I had in Sri Lanka! The property is very beautiful, with beautiful views from the Lion Rock, and from my balcony I could see some sweet squirrels, hornbils and monkeys! Amazing experience and place to relax. Totally recommend. The room is quite comfortable and you get to hear the nature sounds during the night - which I found quite interesting - hence using ear plugs make it more comfortable to sleep 😉 You can walk to the center with all restaurants and bars, within a 20 minute walking, which I really enjoyed.

Amila, de eigenaar, heeft ons geholpen met de activiteiten regelen in de omgeving. Het contact verliep erg prettig. Daarnaast hebben we erg genoten van de tuin wat grenst aan het bos met vele vogels en een prachtig uitzicht op Lion's rock. We vonden het jammer om weer na 2 nachten te gaan. Een erg fijne plek als je niet in het drukke deel van Sigiriya wilt zitten! Absolute aanrader.

Het bed kraakte.

Amazing view of Lion Rock. There are only 4 chalets so it is very peaceful. A little way out of the town, great breakfast and lovely friendly and helpful host.

Het bijzondere is dat je vanaf je balkon zicht hebt op Lions Rock. En vanwege de kleinschaligheid is het rustig en knus. De ligging aan de rand van het dorp zorgt er voor dat je met vogelgeluiden wakker wordt. De eigenaar en zijn vrouw zorgen goed voor je en maken als je daar prijs op stelt een privé diner klaar. Heerlijk gegeten.

Superbes cabanes en hauteur, conformes aux photos. Bonne literie, logement propre pour une cabane en hauteur. Idéale pour les amoureux de la nature, avec contacts au plus près des animaux (oiseaux, Gecko, ecureuils, singe.... et blattes). Jardin bien entretenu et personnel serviables

WIFI instable comme partout au SRI LANKA, humide quand il pleut (car moustiquaire à la place de menuiserie à certain endroit)... mais c'est normal car c'est une cabane en hauteur. Blattes qui rentrent dans les bagages (pensez à secouer vos vêtements avant de les mettre) mais cela ne nous a pas déranger.

Tolle Hüttenanlage mitten in der Natur. Amila und seine Schwester haben einen friedlichen Platz geschaffen. Das Frühstück und auf Wunsch das Abendessen waren sehr gut. Wir hatten einen Blick auf einen malerischen toten Baum wo exotische Vögel (unser Highlight zwei Malabar Hornvögel) gerne landen und dahinter in der Ferne der Lion Rock. Erholung pur :)

Prachtige plek midden in de natuur met zicht op de Lion’s rock.

Przepięknie położony, z balkonu widać Lion's Rock. Głęboka cisza, bardzo blisko z naturą. Przestronny pokój i łazienka, wygodne łóżka. Jeśli lubisz kontakt z przyrodą to idealne miejsce. Nocleg prawie jak pod namiotem.

Moskiteira była bezużyteczna. Nie dało jej się rozłożyć tak aby przykryła wszystko. Całą noc wplątywałam się w nią.

Very nice huts in the middle of the nature, with a great view on Lions Rock, situated a little bit away from Sigirya. The owners are very friendly, make great breakfast and are willing to support with your requests.

Not all huts are animal-proof, which showed after we had a big lizard find itself a way inside. After some time, however, the owners were willing to love us to another hut. The huts are pretty basic, as can be expected.
