Quiet location

Compost toilet away from the yurt & adequate outside shower & adequate outdoor kitchen facilities. Being bitten constantly by bugs. No phone reception or wifi. Having to drive for a while to get phone reception or go to the owners house which defeats the purpose of a relaxing independent break.

The food was amazing .

Not much. They helped us out with the parking .

Such a beautiful place. Up in the mountains and so peaceful. The hosts are such lovely people and thought of everything. Loved it and we be back for sure.

Rugged cabin in the bush. Plenty of hot water in the outdoor shower. Great log burner to keep the cabin warm during our mid-winter break.

It’s location high in the bush, but yet offering such stunning vista of sunrises every morning during the surrounding birdsong.

amazing experience for my husband and I and for our children. we had a lot of rain but it was still magical being up in the bush with a lovely log burner in the cabin. the food was exceptional and the outdoor shower was a real treat. our son loved adventuring with his dad down to the tent site. he loved trying to spot possums at night and the kids also loved the farm animals.

The property is in a beautiful but remote location. The views are incredible. The bed is comfy, there are nice bath robes, the shower works well and extra beach towels. the living area is comfortable. There is a bbq, take food with you and ice to keep anything fresh. There is a wood burning fire in the living room if you know how to light a fire, I didn't, and I wasn't game to have a go in case I burned the place down. The owners are very nice. I didn't see any of the services advertised like cooking or massages any where that are shown on the website and did take cash as advised. Its really very lovely. You can hike around it and swim in the river.

This cabin is very remote. I was alone and I really did not realise this was not a clamping site with other cabins or I wouldn't have booked it, this is the only cabin, you are completely isolated. There is no cell reception or wifi, so I felt very isolated and quite unnerved at times. I thought at least my dog is here. She barked all night the first night, the third night as critters ran up and down the outside of the cabin, on top and underneath she was going crazy. If you are happy on your own, or are in a couple I am sure this is an ideal location. For me it was way too isolating. Even for the dog it was. It is very comfortable though if you are happy to be off the beaten track and have zero contact whilst you are there. It is very off the track, a good 5km down a gravel road and then you need to have a 4 wheel drive to get up and down to it up a steep dirt road, this isn't a drive for the feint hearted. I wasn't game to drive this at night so I made sure that I was back before it was dark and left in a morning after it was light.

Amazing location ten mins drive from Takaka with exceptional view down to coast. Complete privacy in bush. Friendly, relaxed hosts and great optional extras - massage was fab!
