Divan Bodrum Palmira

We (a family of four) had an excellent stay. Both the hotel and its surrounding territory are cosy and well-maintained. There is a small private sandy beach, clean and with lifeguard on duty, plus a nice wooden platform with sunbeds next to the beach. The swimming pool is very nice (and large) and the tennis court is well maintained. The reception service is very efficient and very friendly. Separate mention is due of the room cleaning maids - they manage to work very quickly and somehow invisibly for the guests, as if the rooms are cleaning themselves! The rooms are equipped with all one needs and the beds are quite comfortable.

There is a distinct area where improvement would be welcome, particularly for the benefit of non-Turkish guests - the restaurant service. Most of the restaurant staff seem to be temporary employees, so (a) they are not trained for restaurant service (forget orders, make guests wait for too long, etc) and (b) they speak almost no English. As a result the impression from meals (both at breakfast and later in the day) is often spoiled by mistakes and inefficiency, although the food itself is quite good.

Great location, very central. Good beach, breakfast. Good, helpful staff in reception. They even brought me water when I was playing tennis. Handled all my print outs.

Very slow and poor service at the beach. The staff is tired or slow there. They served hamburger without ketchup :) saying it's finished. They start dinner in the left side of the beach and close it around evening time. We were on the right side and they asked us to leave. That didn't seem hospitable. I think it's mostly poor management issue instead of staff. The prices don't really justify the sub-standard experience.

This place is catering to national clients while charging exorbitant prices for foreign tourists. Staff friendly but untrained and disorganized. You have to be Turkish speaking to get things done and then again, more often than not this doesn’t work either ( my wife is Turkish). Only positive note were the two gentlemen at the reception (the “E”s as they made a difference). Food quality mediocre by Turkish and international standards. Pool is nice, beach small but just okay. It was an underwhelming experience all in all.
