Thinaya Lake Resort

When i booked the place I liked it, based on the reviews and the pictures. After hours of searching online, I booked this place as I thought it would be a convenient place for our elderly mother. After i started my journey to Colombo I received a message from the property manager, cancelling my booking. I had provided my credit card information already, and I am yet to find any charges! Apparently it was double booked. The message I received was on cancelling and nothing more, asked to contact them via booking.com. i was driving at the moment and didnt have any alternative day to switch the trip. I called the manager on whatsapp and he worked with me to find a place, in between my husband panicked and ended up booking a horrible place for double the price

I wish I had a chance to stay and add a comment.The worst was, booking.com had no idea about the cancellation and they asked me why I didn't stay! i am very suspicious about any fines or charges imposed on my account !

Si l’hôtel est un peu excentré les chambres sont très propres, la climatisation au top. La piscine fait un bien fou au retour de balades et est très propres et d’une bonne taille. Le personnel est vraiment très bienveillant et propose de nombreux services à des prix vraiment très très corrects. Le petit déjeuner est bon et complet En résumé nous recommandons cet hôtel

We arrived at 8pm, raining cats and dogs and they could not provide for dinner. The person in charge was rude and unprofessional. Very unwelcoming. Our guide later told us that the manager was “drunk and rude”.

Très bel accueil dès l'arrivée dans l'établissement ! Tout le monde est au petit soin pour qu'on se sente bien et qu'on ne manque de rien. Bien que nous soyons arrivés tard, nous avons quand même pu déguster un excellent kottu au bord de la piscine ! Les chambres sont grandes et propres. La piscine est ouverte en permanence. Notre chauffeur a également été très bien logé et reçu. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel.

We had a wonderful stay at Thinaya Lake Resort. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome, and throughout our stay the staff did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner were well taken care of and incredibly tasty. The hotel has a spacious and pleasant swimming pool, perfect for relaxing. Our room was clean, spacious, and had very comfortable beds. What made our stay even more special was the help we received from Pradeep. We were supposed to go to Ceylon Resort Wilpattu for a stay and safari after our time at Thinaya, but that was cancelled last minute. Pradeep went out of his way to help us and arranged a safari for us upon checkout. We were picked up early the next morning from an alternative hotel, and he even arranged breakfast and lunch for us to take along. All in all, we had a fantastic stay at a lovely hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful people. Highly recommended.

Zeer schone accommodatie met een goed verzorgd Srilankees ontbijt. De medewerkers zijn erg vriendelijk.
