Very nice cabin, well equipped, close to the shore.

Shower is outside the cabin, at few meters, shared with other guest. Not a big problem but it would be better having it inside.

"We cannot wait to go back"

10.0

Our cabin was super clean and ready when we arrived. Nice and quiet stay .

We liked it all. No cell service and wifi was spotty, some may say that this is a negative but for us it was a huge plus. Nothing we didn't like.

The grounds were fantastic. Wildlife abounds. Bears, fishing, waterfowl, etc. We weren't there to participate in those activities and had a tight schedule so maybe another time I'd enjoy those more.

Some odd electrical plug situations may be the norm for that region but just a little figuring, everything worked. The wifi was only accessible from the small lobby and a front cabin. Asked to not make phone calls.

"Peaceful stay. Fairly isolated so bring supplies for meals and play time."

The small cabins had ample space for the two of us. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking options with coffee and tea available. I did find the coffee machine quite dirty with some mold, but a good cleaning and the morning coffee was great to look out over the lake. The two single beds suited the single bedroom for space, and the couch had an additional bed if needed. The resort is on Puntzi lake and if you fish, it is a great spot. The cabin is a nice retreat from the elements, and even in the hot weather a cross breeze was decent to keep the place cool. The cabin had an electric fireplace for cool nights if needed. The grounds are decently maintained and there is lots of space for the kids to play or people to relax by their campsite or the lake. There were around 15 campsites and 5 cabins, so the place is not huge which leaves space for everyone with some great sites along the shore for trailers. Horseshoe pits and a small little tykes play set are all that are there for entertainment, but there is plenty of space to set up ladder ball or other games with friends. We came after the annual fishing derby and the place was very quiet for the days we stayed. The operators were awesome! They were open and friendly with an ease for advice to tour the area. It helped to know where to go since their back road knowledge kept us off some closed roads. As well, they provided details on Tatlayoko Lake which was awesome and a great trip to see. The lake is glacier fed, so was cool to swim in but refreshing. As well, they have kite surfers on the lake if you want to view some action. The BC Recreation Site on Tatlayoko is well sheltered amongst trees and a great camping spot. However, the old mill site by the lake has better access for swimming or boats and that is a short drive from the Rec site. Puntzi lake is decent, but Pyper Lake about 20 minutes away is a good swimming spot with sand.

As far as the resort, it was unfortunate to not have a bathroom attached to the cabin, but not a deal breaker as the wash building was close and kept clean. The beds however were well past their prime and had no support. The springs fully compressed when sitting or lying on the mattresses where you could feel the metal under you. I found the pull out couch had more comfort to sleep on in the living room. We prepared food options to cook ourselves, but it was disappointing that restaurants were practically non-existent even for a single night out meal instead of cooking. The closest restaurant was at the next resort and only open Thursday to Sunday. Highway 20 is the main artery from Williams Lake to Bella Coola, and the villages along it are sparse on amenities. It is best to stock up in Williams Lake as numerous restaurants or resorts that are along the route were closed or with very limited hours (Th-Sun). It appeared that lacking tourism in the area, perhaps from COVID, have left many places on closed status. The resort is a short drive on a gravel road from the highway, and the closest store was 15 minutes away which was a Petrocan gas station. Gas in the immediate area of Puntzi lake is limited with Redstone Village being the closest at $2.09 a litre (Petrocan). Drive 30 minutes East and Anaham Lake had it for $1.74 a litre (Esso). Driving West on highway 20 takes you to Tatla Lake where the gas station was not open any of the times during the days we went by. Nimpo Lake and Anahim Lake both had gas available at around $1.74 a litre, with the cheaper cost being in Anahim Lake. Wifi was a bit limited at the resort to the main office building, and there is no TV in the cabin but there is in the main office building that is open during the day. Bring a tablet or what not if you want a movie at the end of a long day. Otherwise, go old school with some games or cards as the peacefulness is nice.
