The host Mary was absolutely amazing, incredibly friendly and polite. She made a fantastic breakfast each morning and was very welcoming.

I'd have like to have had a set bathroom to use as there were 3 water rooms and unfortunately another guest didn't believe in flushing the toilet after themselves.

I love the area - the lake, the garden, the stream that you can hear from the garden. The beds are extremely comfortable. The shared bathrooms were very clean and put my mind at ease with having to share bathrooms. Such a calm, peaceful and beautiful place. The host Mary is so accommodating and friendly. The shared kitchen is also a bonus as you can cook your own meals.

Breakfast was excellent Mary the host was so welcoming and informative. The whole experience was a great surprise. The peace and beauty of the location was a major plus and we hope to revisit it.

For two people the bed is a bit tight and maby a more confi matress otherwise we slept all night

"A very enjoyable stay, surrounded by nature , in the heart of the Blackstairs."

The Blackstairs Shepherds hut is more than a place to stay, it is something to be experienced, a lovely tranquil environment surrounded by nature. We loved the beautiful gardens and meadow , and towering old oak and beech trees. On the second evening , the sun came out , so we sat in the patio area, lit the barbecue with hardwood twigs and branches kindly provided by Robert , and we were in heaven . The breakfast laid out each morning was perfect , we couldn't ask for more. Robert is a great host. He stopped by each morning and evening for a chat which we thoroughly enjoyed. He was very informative about the surrounding area and about the activities in the Blackstairs eco centre.

I wouldn't change anything.
