MEKONG NATURE LODGE

This is a simple accomodation with a pretty good price/performance ratio. It has all it needs for a short stay. The mattresses were comfortable. The dinner which has been served was very good.

The hotel doesn't really have a reception. Nevertheless staff was around when having a problem even though somethimes it took a while before we were able to contact someone (e.g. in one room the air condition wasn't working and it took us an hour to get a new room). The pool area appears as if no one takes care for it.

This a great place to chill for a few days. Mr Phu is an amiable if casual host, and can arrange tours for you. The place is a bit dishevelled but it has been closed for a while because of Covid. Gardeners were busy bringing the pretty garden back up to scratch - lots of weeding. The road in is a village track, which can be terrifying if you are not used to riding pillion on a scooter, with luggage. Best to relax and go with the flow. It is a nice place from which to explore around Vinh Long and the pool is lovely on hot days. We ate our meals there rather than bother with getting in and out along the dirt track at night and the food was fine - made to order, including catering for vegetarians. You have to get a ferry across the river from VL and Mr Phu meets you, with however many scooters he needs to transport the luggage. It's a bit of an adventure.

The beds are firm, Vietnam-style, but the sheets were some kind of polyester, and the towels were like in the old days, about 18 inches by 36' - not quite big enough. There is a fridge in the central dining area - a raised hut - where you can buy a beer and Mr Phu will get you a bottle of Dalat white wine if you are game. He is very helpful. We suggested that real coffee would be better than instant coffee - especially in a country with so much good coffee. One of the neighbours blasted us for hours on end with disco hits but that is not the owner's fault. And there are plenty of house dogs to get attached to.

no hot water in our room but other guests said they had it. was not put in room we booked on arrival. called owner and he fixed it immediately but new room did not appear as ready for occupation.

It’s a hidden gem! The pool is really a plus. Friendly staff and good food. We even had the opportunity to learn how to make Vietnamese pancakes. The owner can organize tours for you - just be aware that it’s quite pricey.

The pool wasn’t really clean but with the temperatures outside, it’s really pleasant to have the pool available.

The owner is mega friendly! Can organize pick ups, expeditions... always ready to help :)

The lodge is surrounded by nature, you can enjoy cycling around the area and the owner can arrange for you also a boat trip in the Mekong, including a nice ride in the small canals connected to the river. The rooms are nice big and clean. The lodges are wooden made. Great staff, the owner is super friendly and also arranged for us the pick up from the small dock in the An Binh island.

Perhaps a bigger fridge with more choice of beverages would be good

accommodation was lovely, spacious, clean with AC and powerful shower. had a pool and the grounds were delightful the owner made you feel extremely welcome and we participated in a cooking class with his wife and hired push bikes and explored the Mekong delta
