Such a special and amazing place run by amazing people! If you are near Cali you've got to take some time away from the city to enjoy the jungle, river, and amazing food. Our guide for the river tour was fantastic and overall we just felt really taken care of and had a blast!

This should be the standard by which all other off the grid stays are measured. I have no dislikes about the property.

Great location and very unique. Truly a relaxing experience. Wifi/ cell reception only available by lobby (they give you walkie talkies for the room). The staff is super friendly. Even though we didn't know Spanish/ they didn't know English, they were so patient and kind while Google translate loaded our conversations. Only "issue" we had there is the first road our driver had to drive through from the entrance to the lobby. Place is truly peaceful , we didn't mind disconnecting from the world . Would return in a heartbeat!

The location is extremely beautiful. We saw some little moneys in the trees at night. The river is wonderful! Enjoy swimming and see some birds.

The remote location with the sound of the river and birds and the view of the mountains is spectacular. The staff are very friendly. The place is super clean and the smell of fresh air all the time makes for a very relaxing stay.

My only negative feedback is the food. You are secluded in the mountains in this resort style hotel and the food was never considered. I ordered a vegetarian lasagna and when the shredded stuff looked like chicken, they proved it was vegetarian by showing me the package of the frozen meal. The next day, the chicken was dry, chewy, and bland. Airplane food is better. You are stuck with the food because there is nothing else around, so I suggest bring your own food but they will also charge extra for that. Vegetarian doesn't mean frozen food and doesn't mean vegetables. Buy a book with vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes for insight and imagination to your bland food.

Beautiful cabins (we booked el enseuño), amazing to have a river and waterfall steps from your bed. Worth the trip.

"El recorrido" the staff offered was a 15 minute walk to the same river next to our cabins. We would have preferred to go to the river alone rather than with 25 other people visiting for the day. This should be communicated beforehand as we were under the impression we were going somewhere new. The staff could also have communicated the different activity options available. As we were leaving they mentioned that we should have done una caminata con propósito, which we would have enjoyed, but nobody told us anything.

We had such a great time at Bosque el Descanso, I can’t even put it in words!! it is a very unique and magical place to connect with nature and the Beaty that Colombia has to offer. We stayed at the Ensueńo, and the cabin it self was absolutely amazing, surrounded by nature and the sound of the river just steps from the cabin will makes it a paradise. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We absolutely loved everything this place has to offer. Will definitely be back!!
