Perfect location for exploring this lovely ancient town. The room with the balcony was great. The hosts were so kind and hospitable, going above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.

This hotel is run by a family who were wonderful hosts throughout our journey to Fenghuang, met us at bus station, helped get our luggage to the room. We also got a briefing introduction to Fenghuang by the host who recommended us local attractions and places to eat. Moreover, the host helped us to book tickets, which is always cumbersome when you don't have a local Chinese phone number. On a check-out day, we had a train in the evening, so the host kindly stored our luggage while we were exploring the town, helped us take a taxi (it is problematic in Fenghuang: here, only local taxis are allowed, so can't order via app) and offered water and snacks when we were leaving. Speaking of room: a great room with riverside balcony and amazing old town view. Basically we were there only for sleep because there are lots of things to see in the town! As a nice touch, there are always fruits and snacks prepared for guests in the lobby. This is surely the best host I've ever had during my trips. To sum up, amazing value for money. All recommendations and a personal thank you to Wang Jiang!
