An absolute stunning place to stay. The most modern and comfortable place I stayed on my travels. The staff so kind and helpful that bend over backwards for you to have the best experience while you stay. Food is delicious. 5 stars from me. Highly recommended 👌

Shyama and Mohan were the perfect hosts - excellent food, a lovely double aspect room overlooking the jungle, arranging rickshaws and taxis etc etc. Also helped to trample the peppercorn harvest and saw the mountain of cardoman harvested from their plantation.

Winterhome is 18km from Munnar although Shyama will arrange a tuk-tuk to take you into town. It does mean it is a very peaceful place though and on the Periyar side of Munnar if that is where you are going next.

Chechi is so warm and welcoming. Her food is the best we had, she helped with transport to her homestay, for a tuk tuk to take us sight seeing one day and was very quick to respond to any questions. The place was perfect for us. We needed a few days down time where we could chill and do things at our own pace in a peaceful environment.

THE PLACE IS SERENE AND THE HOST IS EXCELLENT WHO ATTENDS TO REQUESTS WITH CHEER. FOOD WAS PREPARED BY THE HOST THAT WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND HAD PERSONAL TOUCH !!!

AN ALMIRAH SMALL SIZE CAN BE PLACED IN THE ROOM. BATHROOM TO HAVE SMALL SHELF TO KEEP THINGS.

This homestay is lovely and I would highly recommend a stay here. We stayed in the Family Double room, which is actually a stand-alone cottage with 2 bedrooms which can be separately rented. The view from the spacious balcony was absolutely outstanding, this was probably our favourite thing about Winterhome, which only added to the peaceful ambience of the remote location. Our host Syama was extremely warm and friendly and kindly prepared us dinner on both nights as well as breakfast in the mornings, breakfast was included. She also helped us arrange tuk-tuks and a taxi to Thekaddy. There are a few small kiosk shops and some waterfalls with zip lines within 200m down the lane from the cottage.

This isn’t really a negative just a watch-out, the Keralan breakfast is a little on the light side, so if you’re hungry maybe go for the eggs and bread! However I’m sure we could’ve requested both. It’s also pretty far out of town but that is part of its charm and taxis/tuk-tuks are very cheap.
