Reykjavik Residence Hotel

Excellent! The location, the apartment, amenities: all excellent. Best of all, if you pay for the breakfast, they’ll leave fresh bread hanging your door handle in the morning. Totally worth it! Plants breakfast was 2 oranges, 2 yogurts, sliced bread, ham, and cheese, jams, butter, and a whole red pepper. Room was huge, clean, and everything was perfect.

A very pleasant stay for my family (2 adults 2 kids). Excellent location slightly off the main shopping street Effective communicated with front desk via WhatsApp. Breakfast basket highly recommended

This was our favorite place to stay. Clean, efficient, cute. Even with the parking struggle, if we had known how great this place would be, we would have made it our home base. Crispy linens, wonderful bathroom amenities. For my Western travelers think condo not hotel. Coffee, cocoa, breakfast basket with fruit, yogurt, cheese, sandwich meats, dark chocolates. Full length blackout curtains, flip out top windows for circulation…and a balcony..a balcony to open the door and let fresh cool air lull us to sleep. I may or may not have refilled a travel size bottle with the AhmaZing body wash. Towel warmer dried our waterfall shoes, cocoa pods warmed our hands, delicious food filled our belly. And the fresh, oven warm bread delivery each morning…with that butter and jam. I ate that, in the bed, with coffee. It was decadent. No issue with noise and felt very safe with secure entry points. We were so pleased with whole experience of the accommodations.

Great for a family vacation with a kitchen available. Close to center city, easy access to shopping and restaurants.

I'd like to give it a 10. Our room was in another building so we had to manage luggage ourselves. It was on the lower level so couldn't leave windows open for air. The hotel did not honor the promised food and beverage credit. Area is good. Room was clean and had everything we needed and more.

Beautifully presented property with good size rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location of the main property was superb.

My favorite hotel in Reykjavík! The breakfast basket is worth it!

This hotel has room in several buildings, spread out around several blocks. They advertised a bar in the hotel. They did not explain on the web site description that that the bar was several blocks away from the reception desk and it was well hidden. It woudl be good to have a map of the layout of the buildings, rooms available in each building, which building has a "functioning" hot tub and which building is closest to the bar. When we checked in they were very nice and said our room was not ready but could drop off our bags and they call us when it was ready. That was very handy. Too bad they did not explain that the hot tub was not working or that that the bar was several blocks away or that we get a 15% discount. We had a very nice apartment with a full small kitchen. The street in front of the building where the reception desk is located is still on a torn up street (as of August 2025), making the walk to the reception desk pretty difficult. When we requested more TP, extra towel, and an extra pillow they were delivered promptly. Even though we chose to re-use our towels, they still changed them and kept the extra towel. This was a very nice place and located in a fun district, but it as very expensive and a bit convoluted to find some of the the amenities. Too bad the roof top hot tub was not working. In retrospect, we should have asked for a discount. Thanks to the reviews on Hotels.com we knew we were in for a bit of walk to the reception desk and to park in Zone 3.

Good location, quiet and very helpful staff.

A very well run, welcoming hotel. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The room was clean with comfortable beds. A kettle, coffee machine, toaster and microwave were provided. The breakfast basket contained a good mixture of fresh fruit, ham, cheese, yoghurts, milk and fruit juice. Fresh bread from the local bakery was delivered daily. The apartments are just off the main shopping street and there is a Bonus supermarket up the road. Highly recommended!
