Our Bali Homestay

Our family of 4 was welcomed so beautifully by Ayung and Dian and we felt very at home in the beautiful open kitchen and living area surrounded by a gorgeous lush garden. Delicious breakfasts and other meals available, and helpful driving service from Sakata. The pool was a delight too, as was the incredible visiting massage therapist! We actually loved being in Bongkasa outside of the crazy, busy Ubud central and were able to access similar sights which were much calmer and less touristy e.g. Sangeh Monkey Forest, a local water temple and the rice fields nearby. The team were so helpful with everything we needed all the time and the whole place was sparkling clean and beautiful!

Only slight downsides were the initial barking by the resident guard dog but we soon all got used to each other and the barking stopped, the distance from central Ubud which was great for us but could be tricky for others and the shared bathroom (but only shared with one other family so not really a problem for us).

We enjoyed everything! I am sure this is probably one of the best accommodations on Bali. We felt very welcomed and familiar from the very first moment, when we were picked up at the airport from Sakata and welcomed the next morning from the rest of the people working and living there. Kerry, the Australien lady living there, spend a great day with us playing billard next to the Pool and teached us how to improve. We also got a private tour with her early in the morning showing us around the surroundings - wonderful! Sakata, the driver was a very great help to show the real Bali from the view of a local. He is the owner of a tourist information too and knows how to help best. He drives you everywhere and gives you lots of information during the way. Breakfast was also very yummy and made with love from Dawee and her friend. It was really nice and felt familiar that the host always know our names and used them when they spoke with us. Best stay in Indonesia during our trip so far.

Agung was an awesome host, the rooms were clean and the pool and garden were great for the kids. Fantastic value.

cozy rooms, clean bathrooms with hot water shower, tea and coffee can be made in the room, fantastic pool in the garden, very friendly staff, good breakfast in the morning

it is a bit far from Ubud, but no problem if you have any means of transportation
