Barrel Homestay Areguling

Tan and his family were lovely and very helpful and accommodating. He was able to get anything we needed, set up scooters and rides for us and even came to get us himself one night. They dropped the scooters off for us which was great, they were cheap and reliable. The location is peaceful, the rooms are spacious. You wake up to the sound of the sound of wooden buffalo bells. Little kitchen you can use, which is nice.

The location is a bit further from amenities then we expected. Not many restaurants around so require either a scooter or taxi to get anywhere. However we got scooters delivered for us and had a blast driving them around, only 20 min to kuta. The rooms could use a few extra touches, no towel racks, no bedside tables, no mirror other than bathroom. Bathroom door is just a shower curtain (not the end of the world). Kitchen needed a few things (soap, garbage, lighter for stove), but were promptly provided on request.

The host (Dan) was so lovely. This made us feel really comfortable! He let us borrow his bike to go grab dinner around the corner on the first night. He really made us feel at home and looked after! We loved that it was a close ride to Kuta - and other beautiful beaches but far enough away that it was quiet and relaxing. Everyone in the area is so kind.

Nice homestay with all the basics you need for a short stay, less than 10 min walking distance from the beach. I recommend renting a scooter and exploring the area as there are wonderful beach and viewpoints around.

The road to get there can be a bit bumpy and muddy, especially if it has rained before but it is not a big deal.
