simple basic clean infrastructure. totally value for money. excellent location. exceptionally courteous host who helped with all aspects of the trip including suggestions of places to visit and best eateries to go to. would love to come back and stay in the same place again.

Nothing to complain about

Great location near the Ashram and beach and also the lovely busy Heritage town. Susu the host went above and beyond with his many acts of kindness. I felt very welcomed. There's a little temple at each end of the street and people on the street are gentle and friendly. I am a 64 year old Irish woman travelling alone and I had a wonderful time in Pondicherry. My meditation dwindled somewhat as there was so much to see and do. I had lively swims at Rock Beach, the end with no rocks on SV Patel side. The water is heavenly, bit of a current but not strong. Just to add that there is no lifeguard and I'm a strong swimmer. Hire a bicycle, it's fun and stress free. Sri Aurobindo's ashram is a beautiful place to sit after a masala chai on the street and an early beach walk. Shaman House is just a few minutes cycle to the beach or ashram. Very walkable also. Susu took me on a little tour on his scooter the first day and pointed out some excellent restaurants and general landmarks which eased me in gently. He provides filtered drinking water in room so no need to buy awful plastic bottles. This is a basic guesthouse with a delightful host.

I have liked everything

I had a wonderful stay at this property! The Guest House has colorful walls that I really liked and appreciated. Even my room had colour in it. The room was very clean, and the water provided was RO and very clean as well. The host was a really wonderful gentleman and he was so helpful with locations to eat and sights to see. The promptness with which he responded to any requests was also excellent! I will definitely stay with this property if I visit Pondy in the future!

This place was truly a gem. Not only the best budget stay in Pondicherry - but also possibly one of the best guesthouses I have stayed at in India. The owner is the kindness in person and will go out of his way to make your stay comfortable and help you when needed. I happened to be sick during my stay and he was ready to meet all my requests with a smile. Also he will prepare delicious tea for you anytime of the day. The rooms are basic but well kept and painted each in a different style/colour theme, which gives the place a unique funky vibe. I have stayed in two different rooms and both were clean and well ventilated. Hot water available 24h. The neighbourhood is lovely and away from crowded commercial areas, although very central. Stay here and you won't regret it, promise!

The check-out time is a bit too early (10.30 am), but of course you can leave your bags at the property

You could not possibly ask for a better host than Susu! He was the epitome of a gracious, welcoming, helpful host... I felt SO very well taken care of staying at his guest house! He was always very responsive to my questions/concerns, addressing them immediately and satisfactorily. He helped me in SO many ways...too countless to name! I left feeling like he was not just the best host in the world (I am totally serious about this!! I travel a LOT, in India and elsewhere!) but also a friend. Thank you, Susu, for being the kind, wonderful, serviceful person that you are!!! :0)

Room was very spartan; I suppose to be expected for a low-budget accomodation. Windows did not face any part of outside...only the interior of the building. However, it was a fair price for what was provided.
