LA ALMACERÍA DE ANTEQUERA

Fantastisch modern appartement met heerlijk bed, beddengoed en bedlinnen en dakterras op een toplocatie, gelegen aan een gezellig, sfeervol pleintje met prachtige kerk en restaurantjes met terrasjes en gratis grote parkeerplaats op loopafstand.

Als er dan toch een minpuntje genoemd moet worden, zullen het de zwarte delen van de steile stenen trap zijn, die vooral voor ouderen lastig te zien zijn. Misschien een witte band plakken op die treden? Maar dat is ook weer minder mooi, tsja…

We were really happy with the flat. It’s right in the heart of town, which was perfect. We were there during Santa Semana, so it was quite busy, but we didn’t have any issues with noise — things settle down around midnight. There are loads of really nice bars nearby and plenty of good places to eat, which made it easy to just head out and enjoy the area. The flat itself is decorated in a really simple, tasteful way. It had everything we needed. Also worth saying the host was great – even though they weren’t there in person, everything was really straightforward and easy.

The location is unbeatable - stepping outside directly onto Place San Sebastian in the historic heart of Antequera. Within a few metres are several great bars and restaurants as well as a superb bakery a few minutes walk away. We found the apartment OK for our needs. Travelling as a couple meant that we could spread out and use the facilities on all floors. This was useful as we had a fair bit of luggage with us. Ana, our host and her mother were extremely kind and helpful in getting our luggage transferred from our hire car to the apartment - see note below. They both genuinely cared about our well being and enjoyment throughout our stay and were readily available to offer advice and personal recommendations. Having that personal interaction with the host is so important and can be often overlooked when comparing the experience of other properties we have stayed in. We felt that this apartment is ideal particularly in the warmer summer months when more time is spent outdoors - the apartment would then offer a comfortable, cooling respite from the heat. Four adults sharing in the cooler times of the year may find it a bit a a struggle given the fact that more time would naturally be spent indoors; the apartment itself is quite compact in some respects. That said, we thought that the accommodation offered really good value for money - the location alone is well worth it!

We arrived in our hire car at the busiest time of the day and week - 8pm on a Friday evening. What made it worst was the fact that the local police refused to allow me to stop and offload our bags. This made our arrival in Antequera - a city I was unfamiliar with quite stressful. Fortunately, Ana our host, and her mother were quick to help out. My advice to other travellers with cars: Arrive before 5pm and use the central, paid for car park. I was able to negotiate a good deal with the car park provider for our whole stay in Antequera. Well worth it and stress free.

Great location and ideal for exploring Antequera.Near great restaurants,bars and cafes. Comfortable and clean. Quality bedding and towels all from Zara home and comfortable beds and pillows. Excellent communication from the owners.

Property is a great location central to old areas to visit.

We were very cold. He was not working properly. Although the property manager said it did work. We froze the entire time.
