Arrivillage

I have been using Booking for both business and pleasure for over 20 years and, with my family, we have stayed in many countries and lodged in as many establishments, hotels, private houses. Never before, however, have we had such a good time. Our stay at Arrivillage was the best ever. Mr Jose'-Maria and his family made available to us not only their beautiful, large, very clean house with all possible comforts, but all themselves. They made us feel better than in our own home and, from the start, we knew it was going to be a special stay. Mr. Jose-Maria is a real, lovely gentlemen. Every day he made sure we had the best, advising us on what to see that was beautiful (lots of it) and made himself totally available to readjust our daily schedule according to the weather conditions which, unfortunately, were not optimal. We would highly recommend a stay at Mr Jose'-Maria's House if you want to visit Sao Miguel. IMPORTANT: don't do as we did when we thought it was too far to go from one end of the island to the other and booked two houses, one in the west (Arrivillage, indeed) and another house in the east of the island. In fact, from Mr. Jose'-Maria house you can visit the whole island easily with short, daily trips. Its location is just perfect: close to the airport, close to Ponta Delgada, and within 20-25 minutes drive at maximum from every site to visit! Top Top Top!!! Francesco

NOTHING. EVERYTHING WAS ...JUST PERFECT :-)

location was really good right on the edge of town so i could get into the beautiful countryside quickly, the owner jose was really friendly and helpful a very good man in my opinion and was willing to go the extra mile to make the stay as enjoyable as possible, kitchen facilities were good enough to make proper melas, wifi was excellent far better than at the airports on the journey, was quiet at night so got good nights sleep and bed was comfortable

to be honest it would be hard to pick fault with this trip the weather was a little dodgy but then it would be in december, my room was a bit chilly on the first night but i was given a heater the next day so that was all good after that

Everything was perfect. Clean and spacious room with bathroom, well equipped kitchen (washing machine and dryer available), free and safe parking place. Location in the middle of Sao Miguel, perfect starting point for trips around the island. The owner and his family are extremely friendly and helpful. If we come back to Sao Miguel, we will be happy to visit them once again.

Warm welcome and a beautiful room. Very neatly organized, and the people were just lovely :) The shared kitchen/living room area is very spacious and provides everything you may need.

This accommodation is not just about cozy rooms and a good location. You rarely meet such an openhearted person like José. He will make your Azores experience unforgettable. No need for you to study the best places to visit on Sao Miguel. José looks out of the window in the morning to check out the weather and makes the perfect itinerary for the day for you.

Big and well equipped kitchen and communal space which is shared with very few units. We were able to use it as a large living room. Several goods were freely available (coffee, fresh fruit, milk). Jose Maria is an incredible host, gave us many useful advice and many good suggestions for exploring the island. We stayed there for our first 4 days out of total 14 on the island and have returned for a friendly visit. He is a skillful football player as well :)

The location is perfect if you rented a car. There is not a lot of touristy infrastructure at a walking distance.

I loved the location of the place, it's in a village near Ponta Delgada and you really get a feeling you're one with the locals. Jose, our host, is incredible. He thinks of everything, you will have everything you need at hand and if there is any kind of problem he will always be there to help and recommend all the best places to visit. Highly recommend!
