Milla Homestay

The reason why I love staying at homestays. This is how it's supposed to be. You're living with the family and you can take part in their everyday life, still you got enough privacy if you need it. I could join one of the most important family celebration and offering of the year, dressing in traditional sarongs, learning about their religion and beliefs, sharing food. I sat together with friends of the family in the evening and we shared beer, cigarettes and karaoke. I could rent a scooter and explore sidemens beautiful ricefields. The room is comfortable and has a small, warm light for reading in the evening (which is something special in Indonesia imo). No roosters!

If you don't close the curtains, everyone can look into your room. But that's just if you want privacy during the day.

Yudi and his family are the loveliest people, he accommodated our every need and provided information about the area. Our room was clean and comfortable, it’s a basic type room but it comes with everything you might need. They also have a shop on the premises where you can buy your essentials and yudi’s mom gives the most amazing Balinese massage. It’s a must try if you’re staying here!

Lovely hosts and a yummy breakfast. Location is great, close to plenty of cafes and great views. Easy options for booking tours, transport and bike rental at the hotel.

Room felt a bit damp and smelt like mould. Mosquito also smelt like it hadn’t been washed in a while.

Milla Homestay was lovely. The family is so nice and the room was clean and comfortable. I recommend to stay there and to enjoy the wonderful village of Sidemen.

the only downside is that you can hear every conversation/ music/ prayers from neighbourhood/ room next door/ family itself as they live on the property n are always around - better bring some earplugs!
