Mango Roots

Eranda and Anusha are extremely helpful and nice people, in every way imaginable. They could not have done more for me. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. Which was perfect for me, as I was fighting a cold. When eating dinner, I thought "This will probably be one of the best foods I will have eaten during my days in Sri Lanka". It was beautifully and lovely prepared local food, which I very much appreciated. Down the street, there are some calm paths to take a relaxing walk through green and natural areas.

mosquito nets would be nice

Very nice, clean and cosy room with incredibly nice, friendly and helpful hosts. The dinner was so delicious! All the vegetables come from their organically grown garden, freshly picked and cooked with fresh herbs and tasty spices. Very much recommended to stay here!

This is the perfect place to land after a long flight. The environment is calm with a nice garden and the sound of birds in the morning. But even better is the hospitality of the hosts. Such a lovely family! They helped us out in every way they could, even before we had arrived at their place. Also, Eranda took us to a nice and quiet temple in his tuktuk. And Anusha makes wonderful meals! We could not have wished for a better start in Sri Lanka. Also convenient: the train station is close by.

Our host was very welcoming and informative about Sri Lanka in general. He drove us from the airport to his place and the next morning to the train station. The breakfast was prepared to take away and was very nice. To start your trip in Sri Lanka it's perfect.

There was a small issue linked to booking.com directly which considers the transfer from the airport is included in the price but it's not and it makes sense when we understand the distance and we compare with the full price.

The host and his family are exceptionally friendly, helpful and extremely hospitable. The location is perfect for anyone arriving from the airport heading inland, since it is close to the railroad (without being close enough to hear it). The town is the perfect place to acclimatise to Sri Lankan life and heat, and gives you a unique opportunity to explore village life off the beaten track. The rooms have everything you need and the breakfast is overwhelmingly delicious. All in all, we would recommend going here straight from the airport, rather crowded and noisy Colombo

Everything was perfect

The owner was so helpful. He helped with train tickets and pick up from the airport in the middle of the night. The breakfast prepared by his wife was excellent.

We had a warm welcome in Sri Lanka, with a lot of useful tips for our trip from Eranda. Anusha prepared us a wonderful dinner. The breakfast take away was also delicious! We had it on the early train to Habarana. Thank you Eranda and familty for the great stay. We definitely reccomend mango roots!
