Dhanudi Homestay

We had an amazing stay here. We stayed for three days and enjoyed them immensely. First of all, the family is so kind and helpful and the room is so well equipped. There is more than enough space to put all your stuff away. The bathroom has recently been renewed and the shower is definitely the best we have had in Sri Lanka. Everything in the bathroom is super modern (you even get a hand dryer). The breakfast was great. We got a choice between two different kinds of breakfasts. You get more than enough and everything was delicious. The location is also very convenient. There is a shortcut to the town centre, so it takes you maybe 4 minutes to get there. If you want to walk to the nine bridges or little adam’s peak trailhead, it is maybe a 6 or 12 minute walk respectively. If you are looking for a place to stay in Ella that feels like home, stay here.

We loved our stay at Dhanudi Homestay. The family are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very quiet. The shower was great with hot water. Our breakfast each day was delicious with an excellent selection of Sri Lankan food and fruit. The location is perfect, a quiet area but within easy walking distance of the town, 9 Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak.

Everything! You stay with the nicest family with all the services and amenities of a hotel, but with much more soul and warmth. Location is perfect, secluded and calm but still just a short walk to the bussy main road also near the trail to Nine Arch and little Adams Peak. Room is large and comfy. We had a Wonderful stay here!

Wij (2 personen) hebben ter plekke de luxe 4-persoons kamer: ‘Kamer met kingsize bed en balkon’ als upgrade genomen. Deze kamer en badkamer was splinternieuw en supermooi. Het ontbijt is afwisselend en heerlijk. Via een sluiproute ben je te voet meteen in het centrum. Eigenaar is heel attent en spreekt goed Engels.

Als je met 4-personen onze luxe kamer boekt, is de bovenste verdieping nogal warm. Je hebt er wel een prachtig terras en uitzicht. ‘Deluxe kamer met kingsize bed’ die wij in eerste instantie geboekt hadden,is ook een goed verzorgde kamer maar een stuk eenvoudiger.

A fabulous homestay a few hundred meters out of the centre, which makes it very peaceful. The breakfasts are substantial and kept us going all day. Room was modern, comfortable with en suite and a/c. He pointed us in the right direction to walk to both 9 Arches Bridge and Little Adams Peak. His brother lives next door and provides TukTuk service locally as well as Island wide transport, which we used numerous times. Efficient and reasonably priced.

Fabulous location. Room was lovely, clean and modern. Breakfast was generous. The owners were super lovely and attentive. Would definitely return and recommend!

My only thing to note is the owners brother may offer you tuktuk services… my advice would be to check the price before agreeing. Only as we felt we were overcharged- 1,200 rhupees for a 5 min journey and people we spoke to at our destination got a tuktuk for 500 ish.

A very clean, comfortable room. Good location, lovely hosts, who were always available. Our first time in a home stay, the high standard would encourage us to look for others on our travels.
