Good location for surfing at Dewata. Good value. Nice hosts. Scotter hire was a good price. Good facilities.

What isn't there to like about this property, out of the way but close enough to all amenities, bus to Galle is only 40 rupee where you can extend your trip via train for a mere 300/500 rupee to the rest of Sri Lanka. This is your home away from home hands-down, Anusha although we have not met is very easy to deal with & there have been no issues from the start of my trip. I have now been here 3 months & intend on staying, Pradeep is an amazing host & has become a very close friend, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is made worthwhile, not to mention his amazing cooking which beats a lot of your local restaurants. Anyone looking for a nice, pleasant stay with hosts & prices that beat most, then Anusha's home stay is where you should look to put your feet up if you are visiting Galle.

Everything was to like......

Bed was comfortable, room had the pot to boil water, cup and a plate. Cute little balcony.

If you are a light sleeper (like I am unfortunately), I do not recommend this place, at least not the room facing the road. It is just too noisy and the doors are too thin to protect from the noise. Even though this place is not on the main street, I couldn't sleep both nights I was there because of dogs barking all night, tuk-tuks passing, loud prayers from the temple in early morning,, train passing.. For me, it was impossible to sleep. In the early morning it was too bright, since the room doesn't have dark curtains on the door and no curtains at all on the window. And the internet connection in that room upstairs was extremely bad. There was no soap and no toilet paper in the bathroom.

Unfortunately next to temple and an annual event so one night continuous noise but not the home stays problem

The host was very friendly and communicates very well. That helped us to proceed with our plans. The place has a very homely feeling specially cause its in a by road around Magalla, Galle. You don't get the beach or any such scenarios per say but you can definitely have a peaceful good night's sleep since the neighbourhood is very quiet. Value for money. We did not stay there during the day time, and we only got there to sleep. If you are planning to stay longer in Galle, then this would be a good spot as its relatively less expensive but close to the city and with that distance you can easily explore the city. Travelling to this place: If you take a Pickme or an Uber Tuk from Galle Fort that would cost you around Rs.350/- (this was Oct 9th, 2023)

I had a good time, even I was offered with breakfast for free for several times.

It’s great neatly kept good for family to stay in.
