"Poor services; mean, greedy and cunning operator."

Maybe the location for its proximity to the city centre. Nothing else.

The operator, Martha has no respect for customer. Hidden cleaning fee of ยฃ15 for just a day sleep is nothing but pure exploitation. No regards for customerโ€™s dignity or humanity on her path. She was ready to send me out in the cold with no refund of the ยฃ28 paid for the reservation if I had not called someone to spare me ยฃ15 as I didnโ€™t expect to pay any cleaning fee on site. She was so mean, greedy and cunning in her approach to the business. I slept in one of the top rooms which was so cold with a duvet best fit for summer and no heating. By far this is my worst air BnB experience. She is a bad partner for booking.com who I have been booking with before now with satisfaction in terms of price and services.

I donโ€™t usually leave bad reviews when I stay in accommodation, but I had to this time. Please donโ€™t be deceived by the cheap price โ€“ thereโ€™s a hidden ยฃ15 โ€œcleaning feeโ€ even if youโ€™re staying just one night. I booked and paid through Booking.com, received confirmation, then later got a message from the host demanding ยฃ15 cash or bank transfer for cleaning. This fee was not shown anywhere obvious during booking or checkout. When I arrived, she refused to let me check in unless I made the payment. I explained I was only staying one night, but she still denied me entry. Another guest in the house even came out to speak with her and told her what she was doing was unfair, noting that many guests had complained about the same issue. He said he had witnessed many people complain about this issue within one week of his stay. After staying outside for over an hour and a half with no resolution, I eventually had to find a way to pay the ยฃ15. This left me feeling very unhappy. Considering the cost of transportation from the city centre to the house, the hidden cleaning fees, and the cost of the room, I could have stayed in the city centre for a cheaper cost. The ยฃ28 price appears to be a deliberate tactic to lure guests with a low price to the accommodation, only to add another ยฃ15 fee later during check-in. I felt cheated, unfairly treated and manipulated. The host is being dishonest, unkind and exploitative. I would not want anyone else to fall victim to this.

Decent enough place. I booked on very short notice. I was a bit surprised why they'd ask for a cleaning fee in cash instead of just including it the booking price. The lock to my room was missing, but the host said they were in the process of getting it fixed. I didn't mind because I was only staying one night.

"Misleading Fees, Heartless Host, and Abandoned by Booking.com"

Nothing. The information on the listing was misleading โ€” it clearly said the ยฃ15 cleaning fee only applied to weekly stays, yet the host demanded it for my one-night booking and then refused me entry when I couldnโ€™t pay. I was left outside at midnight with nowhere to go, forced to sleep at a bus stop in the cold after already paying for the room

I booked a room for ยฃ28, the only amount I could afford at the time, thinking I had secured a safe place to stay. Only after booking did the host demand an extra ยฃ15 โ€œcleaning feeโ€ per week, which was never made clear upfront. I told her honestly that I simply couldnโ€™t pay anything beyond what I had already booked, as ยฃ28 was all I could manage. I even called Booking.com before my arrival, and they assured me I would not be charged this hidden fee. But when I arrived at the property at midnight, exhausted and vulnerable, the host heartlessly pushed me out into the cold night because I couldnโ€™t pay the extra money. I called Booking.com again, hoping they would protect me as a customer, but instead the story changed: suddenly they said it was up to the host to decide whether Iโ€™d get a refund. Of course, the host refused. That night, I had nowhere else to go. I was forced to sleep at a bus stop in the freezing cold โ€” after paying for accommodation that I never got to use. This was not just about money; it was about being treated with dignity. I felt abandoned by both the host and Booking.com, and the experience left me hurt and deeply disappointed. No one should have to go through this when booking what should be a safe place to stay.

The owner was very arrogant and asked me for a 'cleaning fee' not mentioned anywhere in the add that was put up. The location was horrible with hostile kids.
