We had a lovely night here. Wipul and his family (and Girlie the dog) were so welcoming, even recording perahera on tv for us to watch with him over breakfast! The room was tidy and very comfortable, with a beautiful view, and breakfast was delicious. Overall amazing value for money. I'd strongly recommend a stay here to anyone.

The view was amazing, also the bed was extremely comfortable and Wipul and his family made the stay very cozy due to their friendliness.

Nothing was all good

Perfect homestay just outside of Kandy on the hillside. Very spacious and well-equipped rooms with a great view from the balcony. Very friendly hosts who serve great food and have interesting conversations with the guests. I was given excellent help while I was ill. This place is highly recommended and we would come back anytime.

The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We really felt at home during our stay. The room was sparkling clean and had a balcony with a view. The hosts cooked delicious local food for us which was one of the best meals we have had for a long time!

The WiFi could have been faster at times.

Definitely a 4 star Hotel room in a private house. Can't praise this room enough. Everything perfect. Very pleasant hosts, very good breakfast. We felt totally at home there and would book it again.

It is on one of Kandy's hills . Tuktuk can do it but the road Google maps suggests is very steep. There is a better road and even a bus stop just at the corner.

This was without a doubt the BEST place in Sri Lanka that we stayed in during our 4 weeks here. I don’t know where to start! The family who run this home stay were beyond kind and accommodating and provided us with the BEST food ever. The breakfast was unbelievable and abundant - we had mentioned we like hoppers and roti so they ensured we had them! It was so good that we had to get dinner and lunch here as well. It was so reasonably priced considering we amount of food and dessert which was included. It was genuinely the best curry we had in Sri Lanka. The accommodation itself is located in a lovely part of kandy, outside of the hustle and bustle and above the palm trees. This was perfect for us as we wanted somewhere quiet to relax and it was quick and cheap to get a pick me tuktuk to the centre / all of the other locations in Kandy. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. The bed was huge and so comfortable with big mosquito nets provided. This was also the nicest bathroom we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. The shower had perfect temperatures and the best pressure. We also loved the lamps in the bathroom and bedroom which made for nice mood lighting and was much preferable than the usual 1 clinical ceiling light which most other home-stays had (just little things like this made the stay perfect!). The view from the balcony was absolutely gorgeous too, especially to enjoy the sunset. You can’t beat it. We also loved the beautiful ceramic carving in the main room and also cuddles with their family dog, Girly.

We are very sad when we found out that not many people book this place because of its distance to the city centre. Sunset Hills had one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in in Sri Lanka and a very modern bathroom. The balcony is also very cute and the host made big efforts to provide us with breakfast we like. Eventhough we only steayed for one night, it was a very beautiful experience and we definitely recommend this place!!❤️
